Frequently asked questions.

Have Questions? We have answers! Filter by topic:

Very easy, just enter your information on the Registration Page , choose the subscription term you wish, pay the registration fee and security deposit, and in a couple of minutes you will receive by email the login credentials needed to enter and bid in car auctions at Copart.com.

You can register for $34.95 a month or for $189.95 a year (the first month is free). The registration fee is non-refundable. Please read and make sure you understand and accept our Terms & Conditions (T&C) before registering to participate in car auctions.

The security deposit protects SalvageReseller.com should you fail to pay for the vehicle you purchased, as we are responsible for ensuring payment of awarded vehicles to Copart.

The security deposit must be a minimum of $400 or 10% of the bid amount (whichever is higher), as the amount of your security deposit limits the amount of your bid.

Yes, the security deposit is 100% refundable if you do not purchase a vehicle or if you request it upon meeting all payment terms. You forfeit your security deposits if you are awarded a vehicle and do not meet all payment terms and conditions.

We accept wire transfer payments for the security deposit. Once you send the payment, you will need to send us an email; please include the bank's payment confirmation receipt. The funds will be applied to your account during business hours (Monday through Friday from 8am EST to 5pm EST). If you make a payment, during non-business hours, kindly wait for us to return, the following business day.

United States residents will not be able to bid in the state that you reside in, unless you are a resident of Alabama, Colorado, Florida or Wisconsin. You will not be able to bid/purchase in the states of Kansas or Missouri using our website. In the states of Colorado or Wisconsin, and any vehicle with a junk, parts only or certificate of destruction title, you will not be able to bid in the live auction, you can only submit a preliminary offer. In the State of Michigan, you will not be able to bid on any Salvage titles, only on Clean titles.

The button will turn green and say winning.

Since we are a FL based dealer regardless of what state you are in a FL flag will always show when you bid through us.

We do not ship, but you can find shipping services, get an estimate, or list your shipment on our Transportation services page.

You can pick up salvage cars for sale directly at the Copart facility where the vehicle is stored immediately after we receive the documents you need to sign, and the vehicle is paid in full. We don't ship vehicles but we can help you find a transportation company.

Payment must be made to Inloher Corp. with a deposit in our Bank of America account or by wire transfer, you CANNOT pay at any Copart facility. No other form of payment is accepted. The payment must be received and cleared within two business days of the sale in order to avoid the $50 Copart late payment fee. You will receive payment instructions in the Purchase Confirmation email.

Of course, actually we highly recommend to always inspect the vehicles before bidding, you can even inspect cars for auction before registering with us. You can visit the Copart facility where the vehicle is stored Monday to Friday from 8.00am to 4.30pm. Please remember that ALL VEHICLES ARE SOLD AS "AS IS – WHERE IS". ALL OFFERS ARE BINDING AND ALL SALES ARE FINAL , this means that you are buying it "with all faults" and without any warranty or guarantee of any type, express or implied. Any information regarding the cars for auction provided by the Seller, Copart or us is for convenience only. It is your sole responsibility to ascertain, confirm, research, inspect, and investigate a vehicle and any information regarding such vehicle prior to bidding on it in salvage auction.

The titles can take up to 30 - 45 days for us to receive from Copart, even if it is not a pending title. Then, we will process them and mail them to you to the address on file or, in the case of Florida residents, process them at the tag agency, and you will receive them in the mail from Tallahassee. Please make sure you have all your documents signed, that you submit your ID and that you remove the vehicle on a timely manner as Copart will not mail us the title until the vehicle is removed from the yard. Florida residents must have the Power of Attorney, notarized and mailed to us, for us to be able to process the title.

Wellcraft Scarab Super Sport Project Boat

Best ways of finding yacht salvage boats for sale, ideal theft recovery boats for sale.

Salvage boats for sale are a welcome choice for anyone who does not mind paying repairs to get the boat back to its normal condition. There are times when things do not go as planned and boats are damaged, but it is still possible to salvage them. Yacht Salvage is often sold at very low prices because at most times, the owners are simply trying to get rid of them.

Insurance companies and owners usually give hurricane damaged boats for sale and theft recovery boats for sale at Salvage boat auction in the coastal areas after major storms or other natural disasters take place. A good example of such an occurrence is hurricane Dorian that hit the Bahamas. This is an event that had a great impact on the properties that had been set up in the area and this included boats and houses. The sales skyrocket after the hurricane as the residents counted their losses.

Ideal wrecked boats for sale

Most people who choose to buy salvage boats for sale usually take them to people with skills to do the repairs. In some cases, the people who make the purchases already have the resources and the skills that are needed to make the boat as good as new if not better.

There are abundantly used theft recovery boats for sale across the nation that may be willing to pay bottom-dollar for an old boat if they think it might hold potential for a refit and then resale. If you can pull your boat to them on its own trailer you stand a fair chance of getting a buck or two for that old rig – after all, if you can bring it to them, that means the trailer’s roadworthy and that alone has some value.

Deciding on the best yacht salvage boats for sale

The first thing to do after you find hurricane salvage boats for sale is to find out the kind of condition that the boat was in before the disaster hit. When you have an idea about the kind of condition, the boat was in before the loss occurred. It is very important. You need to think of it as a boat that does not have any damage. This helps you determine whether it was maintained well and whether there were any other damages that existed.

You need to ask all the necessary questions before buying salvage yachts for sale, theft recovery boats for sale, or any other old boat. You need to pick a boat that can be fixed without necessarily working on the entire boat. This makes it possible to know the pre-loss value of the boat and therefore you may place realistic offers or bid.

Considering damage

After successfully determining the pre-loss condition of the Yacht Salvage, you now have to consider the extent of the damage caused by the event that took place. This helps you evaluate the damages and establish what will be needed for the repairs. When you are considering the damage, you should overestimate it.

Types of damage that you can find on salvage boats for sale

You need to understand the damages that could possibly occur to a boat during the disaster. There are different types and they include:

In the case of Submersion, hurricane damaged  boats for sale have the most damage. Submersion damages the entire boat. Electronics equipment may be likely to tumble down by the water, but there is a possibility of saving the  boat engine  if it is taken care of instantly. This time it may be too late to prevent any actual damage and there are chances of hidden damage.

Dock rash happens when the boat rubs against other flutters, pilings, and the docks. Fixing can be done in some cases, but you may have to do some work to access some areas.  You will need some skills repairing this kind of wrecked boats for sale .

Wind damage

Repairable boats could also be wind damaged and this can be noted on the sails and canvas that could be shredded. Structural damage can also be caused by wind. The mast could also fall and cause damage to the deck and the top of the cabin. When there is wind rain, then more damage could occur inside the boat.

Salvage damage

Another thing you could notice when you buy salvage boats for sale. This happens as the container is being recovered. This is because the process could involve considerable stress and strains of drawing the boat from the water and into a vehicle for transport

This is also common and causes damage to the gear and fittings underwater. You may have to check the propeller shafts, rudders, keels, and props. You need to carefully inspect the insides of the boat and ensure you look at the steering system as well.

It is possible for hurricane salvage boats for sale to have one or more of the above damages. This is why a buyer needs to get as much information as possible about the boat that they are buying. You can look for an expert opinion before boat purchase .

Damage on salvage boats/wrecked boats for sale

Buying a boat with known damage is usually forthright, but the buyer needs to be prepared for unknown damage which may reveal itself during the course of repair. I suggest finding a reputable boatyard to affect the repairs. Documentation that the repair was done professionally should settle any prospective buyer’s concerns down the road when it is time to resell. I also suggest having a contingency budget for those unknowns as part of your overall approach. Buying a storm-damaged boat will take some risk, effort, and investment, but can result in keeping a good boat.

Understanding Boat Insurance Salvage Auctions

Bill Michaels

What are Boat Insurance Salvage Auctions?

Boat insurance salvage auctions are events where insurance companies sell boats that have been declared a total loss or a write-off. These auctions are an opportunity for buyers to purchase boats at a reduced cost, but they come with risks.

How do Boat Insurance Salvage Auctions Work?

Boat insurance salvage auctions work similarly to other auctions. Insurance companies list the boats they want to sell on their websites, and interested buyers can place bids. These auctions are usually open to the public, and buyers can bid online or in-person.

What are the Risks of Purchasing a Boat from an Auction?

Purchasing a boat from an auction comes with risks. The boats sold at these auctions have been declared a total loss by the insurance company, which means that they have been damaged beyond repair, or the cost of repair exceeds the boat’s value. Some risks of purchasing a boat from an auction include:

Unknown Damage: The insurance company may not disclose all the damages to the boat, making it difficult for the buyer to determine the boat’s actual condition.

Unforeseen Costs: Boats purchased at auctions often require significant repairs, and the cost of repairs may exceed the price paid for the boat.

Insurance Issues: Most insurance companies will not insure a boat that has been declared a total loss, so buyers may find it challenging to get insurance coverage for their purchase.

What Should You Consider Before Purchasing a Boat from an Auction?

Before purchasing a boat from an auction, buyers should consider the following:

Research the Boat: Buyers should research the boat’s make and model to determine its value before placing a bid.

Inspect the Boat: Buyers should inspect the boat before placing a bid. If possible, they should hire a marine surveyor to assess the boat’s condition.

Determine Repair Costs: Buyers should estimate the cost of repairs to the boat before placing a bid.

Check Insurance Coverage: Buyers should check with their insurance company to determine if they will insure a boat that has been declared a total loss.

Boat insurance salvage auctions can be an opportunity to purchase boats at a reduced price, but buyers should be aware of the risks. Before purchasing a boat from an auction, buyers should research the boat, inspect it, estimate repair costs, and determine insurance coverage.

New UK sanctions to crack down on Putin's war machine

UK announces 50 new sanctions designations and specifications to degrade Putin’s war machine, in co-ordinated action with G7 partners to support Ukraine [ 13 June 2024].

UK announces 50 new sanctions designations and specifications to degrade Putin’s war machine, in co-ordinated action with G7 partners to support Ukraine.

New targets include ships in Putin’s shadow fleet, institutions at the heart of Russia’s financial system and suppliers supporting Russia’s military production.

These new sanctions, announced while the Prime Minister attends the G7 Leaders Summit in Italy, will bear down on Russia’s ability to fund and equip its war machine and show the UK’s steadfast support for Ukraine.

Today’s action includes the UK’s first sanctions targeting vessels in Putin’s shadow fleet, used by Russia to circumvent UK and G7 sanctions and continue unfettered trade in Russian oil.

As part of its enduring commitment to the region, the UK has today committed to providing £242m in bilateral assistance to Ukraine, to support immediate humanitarian, energy and stabilisation needs, and is also working with counterparts to agree a mechanism to bring forward the extraordinary profits stemming from immobilized Russian sovereign assets to the benefit of Ukraine.

Russia’s oil exports are Putin’s most critical revenue source for funding his illegal war in Ukraine. Tax on oil production collected by the Kremlin in 2023 amounted to 8.9 trillion roubles, or 31% of Russia’s total federal revenues. Today’s sanctions aim to disrupt and increase the costs of Russia’s efforts to bypass UK and G7 sanctions through its shadow fleet.

These new sanctions also target suppliers of munitions, machine tools, microelectronics, and logistics to Russia’s military, including entities based in China, Israel, Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye, along with ships which transport military goods from North Korea to Russia.

In addition, this new package cracks down on institutions at the heart of Russia’s financial system, including the Moscow Stock Exchange. This action is taken in coordination with the US, which designated the Moscow Stock Exchange on 12 June.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said:

The UK will always stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine in its fight for freedom.
Today we are once more ramping up economic pressure through sanctions to bear down on Russia’s ability to fund its war machine. Putin must lose, and cutting off his ability to fund a prolonged conflict is absolutely vital.

Foreign Secretary, David Cameron said:

UK sanctions are starving Putin of the revenue he desperately needs to fund his war chest and making it harder to supply his war machine.
We will continue to work alongside our partners to increase economic pressure and demonstrate that the UK and the G7 will stand by Ukraine in this fight.

So far, sanctions have deprived Russia of over $400bn worth of assets and revenues since February 2022. That’s equivalent to four more years of funding for the invasion. The UK has sanctioned over 2,000 individuals and entities under our Russia sanctions regime.

This includes 29 banks accounting for over 90% of the Russian banking sector and over 130 oligarchs and family members who had a combined net worth around £147 billion at the time of the invasion. Over £20 billion of UK-Russia bilateral trade (2021 figures) is now under full or partial sanction. There has been a 99% fall in Russian imports into the UK, and a 73% fall in UK exports to Russia.

Divers Find Remains of Finnish WWII Plane That Was Shot Down by Moscow with a US Diplomat Aboard

The Junkers Ju 52 aircraft is parked.

HELSINKI (AP) — The World War II mystery of what happened to a Finnish passenger plane after it was shot down over the Baltic Sea by Soviet bombers appears to finally be solved more than eight decades later.

The plane was carrying American and French diplomatic couriers in June 1940 when it was downed just days before Moscow annexed the Baltic states. All nine people on board the plane were killed, including the two-member Finnish crew and the seven passengers — an American diplomat, two French, two Germans, a Swede and a dual Estonian-Finnish national.

A diving and salvage team in Estonia said this week that it had located well-preserved parts and debris from the Junkers Ju 52 plane operated by Finnish airline Aero, which is now Finnair. It was found off the tiny island of Keri near Estonia's capital, Tallinn, at a depth of around 70 meters (230 feet).

“Basically, we started from scratch. We took a whole different approach to the search,” Kaido Peremees, spokesman for the Estonian diving and underwater survey company Tuukritoode OU, explained the group’s success in finding the plane’s remains.

The downing of the civilian plane, named Kaleva, en route from Tallinn to Helsinki happened on June 14, 1940 — just three months after Finland had signed a peace treaty with Moscow following the 1939-40 Winter War.

The news about the fate of the plane was met with disbelief and anger by authorities in Helsinki who were informed that it was shot down by two Soviet DB-3 bombers 10 minutes after taking off from Tallinn’s Ulemiste airport.

“It was unique that a passenger plane was shot down during peacetime on a normal scheduled flight,” said Finnish aviation historian Carl-Fredrik Geust, who has investigated Kaleva’s case since the 1980s.

Finland officially kept silent for years about the details of the aircraft’s destruction, saying publicly only that a “mysterious crash” had taken place over the Baltic Sea, because it didn’t want to provoke Moscow.

Though well documented by books, research and television documentaries, the 84-year-old mystery has intrigued Finns. The case is an essential part of the Nordic country’s complex World War II history and sheds light into its troubled ties with Moscow.

But perhaps more importantly, the downing of the plane happened at a critical time just days before Josef Stalin's Soviet Union was preparing to annex the three Baltic states, sealing the fate of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania for the next half-century before they eventually regained independence in 1991.

Moscow occupied Estonia on June 17, 1940 and Kaleva’s doomed journey was the last flight out of Tallinn, though Soviets had already started enforcing a tight transport embargo around the Estonian capital.

American diplomat Henry W. Antheil Jr., who is now considered one of the first U.S. casualties of World War II, was aboard the plane when it went down.

The 27-year-old Antheil, the younger brother of the acclaimed composer and pianist George Antheil, was on a rushed government mission evacuating sensitive diplomatic pouches from U.S. missions in Tallinn and Riga, Latvia, as it had become clear that Moscow was preparing to swallow up the small Baltic nations.

An Associated Press wire item dated June 15, 1940 noted that “Henry W. Antheil Jr. of Trenton, N. J., attached to the United States Legation in Helsinki, was killed in the mysterious explosion of a Finnish airliner yesterday.” In the U.S. media, Antheil's death was overshadowed by much bigger news from Europe at the time: the Nazi occupation of Paris.

The U.S. Embassy in Tallinn has thoroughly documented and researched the case over the years.

Embassy spokesman Mike Snyder told the AP that “news of the possible location of the wreck of the Kaleva passenger plane is of great interest to the United States, especially since one of the first U.S. casualties of the Second World War, Diplomat Henry Antheil, occurred as a result of the plane being downed.”

Earlier this month, the U.S. ambassador in Estonia, George P. Kent, shared a post on X that included photos of Antheil, Kaleva and a memorial plaque by the American Foreign Service Association in Washington with Antheil’s name engraved in it.

Kaleva was carrying 227 kilograms (500 pounds) of diplomatic post, including Antheil’s pouches and material from two French diplomatic couriers — identified as Paul Longuet and Frederic Marty.

Estonian fishermen and the lighthouse operator on Keri told Finnish media decades after the downing of the plane that a Soviet submarine surfaced close to Kaleva's crash site and retrieved floating debris, including document pouches, that had been collected by fishermen from the site.

This has led to conspiracy theories regarding the contents of the pouches and Moscow's decision to shoot down the plane. It still remains unclear why precisely the Soviet Union decided to down a civilian Finnish passenger plane during peacetime.

“Lots of speculation on the plane’s cargo has been heard over the years,” Geust said. “What was the plane transporting? Many suggest Moscow wanted to prevent sensitive material and documents from exiting Estonia.”

But he said that it could have simply been “a mistake” by the Soviet bomber pilots.

Various attempts to find Kaleva have been recorded since Estonia regained independence more than three decades ago. However, none of them have been successful.

Not even the U.S. Navy’s oceanographic survey vessel Pathfinder could locate remains of the plane in a 2008 search around the Keri island in a venture commissioned by the Estonian government from the Pentagon.

“The wreckage is in pieces and the seabed is quite challenging with rock formations, valleys and hills. It’s very easy to miss” small parts and debris from the aircraft, Peremees said. “Techniques have, of course, evolved a lot over the time. As always, you can have good technology but be out of luck.”

New video taken by underwater robots from Peremees’ company show clear images of the three-engine Junkers’ landing gear, one of the motors and parts of the wings.

Peremees and his group are “absolutely” convinced the parts belong to Kaleva because of the distinctive and recognizable design of the German-made Junkers Ju 52, one of the most popular European passenger and wartime transport planes in the 1930s and early 1940s.

The plane was operated by the predecessor of the Finnish national airline Finnair.

Jaakko Schildt, chief operations officer of Finnair, described Kaleva’s downing as “a tragic and profoundly sad event for the young airline” that Finnair, then named Aero, was in 1940.

“Finding the wreckage of Kaleva in a way brings closure to this, even though it does not bring back the lives of our customers and crew that were lost,” Schildt said. “The interest towards locating Kaleva in the Baltic Sea speaks of the importance this tragic event has in the aviation history of our region.”

Peremees said his company would now focus on creating 3D images of Kaleva’s debris and discuss with Estonian authorities about the possibility of raising some of the items and, if found, the plane’s cargo and human remains.

Snyder from the U.S. Embassy in Tallinn said that Washington is closely monitoring the diving group’s efforts.

“We are following the investigation of the site and will be happy to discuss with our Finnish and Estonian (NATO) allies any developments resulting from recovery efforts,” Snyder said.

A stone memorial set up in the early 1990s to the victims of the Kaleva crash is located on Keri, and Helsinki’s old preserved Malmi airport terminal building, where Kaleva was supposed to arrive, has a memorial plaque set up in 2020 with the names of the victims.
