Sanlorenzo Yachts For Sale

Since 1958, Sanlorenzo has developed into a boutique builder firmly placed in the yachting industry, building only a limited number of made-to-measure units per year. With three facilities in Italy (La Spezia,  Viareggio and Massa) the shipyard satisfies only 50 customers a year due to the time the builders invest into creating each individial and customised yacht. In more than half century the shipyard has built over 1,000 yachts and is ranked among the top 20 builders of yachts over 24 metres. Sanlorenzo is an Italian shipbuilding company in Ameglia, Viareggio and La Spezia, Italy. It concentrates on the design and production of made-to-measure yachts and superyachts since 1958 . According to ShowBoats International's Global Order Book 2017, Sanlorenzo excels as the third shipyard in the world in the production of yachts above 24 metres. The shipyard was instituted in the year 1958 under the name Cantieri Navali San Lorenzo Spa by Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia, in the town of Limite sull’Arno, Italy. In 1999, the shipyard was certified UNI EN ISO 14001 to ensure that its production method respects the environment. In 2007, the company was renamed Sanlorenzo S.p.a. Sanlorenzo Yachts is a world-renowned yacht and superyacht builder founded in 1958 in La Spezia, Italy. Yachts produced at Sanlorenzo fall into several categories: composite yachts ranging from 24 to 38 meters are built under the yacht division, aluminum and steel yachts running 40 to 68 meters fall under the superyacht division, and the 13 to 22 meter composite yachts are manufactured in the sport-utility Bluegame division.

With a business start in Limite Sull'Arno in Italy’s Tuscan region in 1958, the company Sanlorenzo Yachts today has grown to facilities located in four shipyards in Italy, which has greatly improved the annual number of available Sanlorenzo yachts for sale. Company headquarters are located in Ameglia, superyachts are built in the La Spezia shipyard, with two more facilities in Viareggio and Massa.

In 1974 Giovanni Jannetti acquired the majority of the Sanlorenzo company and elevated the concept of customization. He transitioned the company from wooden boat building into the fiberglass era and highlighted the individuality of each yacht and limited annual production. In 2005, Massimo Perotti, the company’s executive chairman, became the majority shareholder in the company.

To meet design and build needs across the Atlantic Ocean, the company opened Sanlorenzo Americas. That team includes classically trained designer Marty Lowe and Italian-born project engineer Fabrizio Loi of Inter Yachting. Although tailor-made, Sanlorenzo yachts can include luxury lighting brand Artemide, kitchen designs from Boffi, and furniture from Minotti and Flexform.

Luca Santella was a champion Olympic sailor who designed unique sailboats including the Luja 55. He eventually enlisted naval engineer Louis T. Codega to work with him and they developed the Bluegame 47. In 2018, the company became part of the Sanlorenzo group.

1958 - Founders Gianfranco Cecchi and Giuliano Pecchia open shipyard.

1972 - A new location is opened in Viareggio under Giovanni Jannetti.

1985 - Cantieri Navali San Lorenzo, as the company is known, launched its first fiberglass yacht.

1999 - Manufacturing moved to La Spezia, Liguria, Italy.

2005 - Leadership again changed with the shareholding majority in the hands of Massimo Perotti from Giovanni Jannetti. The name Cantieri Navali San Lorenzo is changed to Sanlorenzo.

2007 - The company opened another shipyard back in Viareggio to build fiberglass yachts over 30 meters.

2016 - The Sanlorenzo Superyacht shipyard opened in La Spezia. The company also initiated a research and development center in Massa to begin development on the next generation of Sanlorenzo yachts for sale.

San Lorenzo is known for exceptional quality. No two San Lorenzo yachts are the same. Although the company prides itself on its exterior lines, as they say that a yachtsman should be able to identify a San Lorenzo yacht visually from afar, every interior is a custom project and each one comes out different. The San Lorenzo yard was first founded in the late 1950’s and launched its first vessel in 1960 at the boat building capitol of Italy; Viarreggio. The materials and craftsmanship are top-quality which make these yachts age extraordinarily well. Atlantic Yacht and Ship has several used San Lorenzo yachts for sale. Although she was built in 1994, she just completed a yard trip in spring 2011 where she got fresh bottom paint, new flybridge upholstery, and a beautiful fresh varnish on her caprails and aft deck table. As mentioned above, each San Lorenzo yacht had a semi-custom layout and interior finish, so no two are exactly alike. “Far Niente” has burl walnut wood throughout the yachts living spaces, marble and granite surfaces, and the recently renewed soft goods are all neutral tones in leather and fabric. (She also has a hot tub on the forward deck!) The engines enjoyed a complete overhaul by RPM Diesel in 2004.

Smaller diesel engines and battery-powered generators propel the hybrid yachts while the diesel-electric yachts use electric motors fed by industrial batteries.
