‘Below Deck’ Charter Guests Break Silence On Low Tip Controversy

Below Deck Charter Guests Break Silence On Low Tip Controversy [Credit: YouTube]

The charter guests of Below Deck Sailing Yacht are speaking out about that low tip. In the Monday, March 14, episode, the notorious charter guests only tipped $6,500, which is the lowest in the show’s history. The charter guests are already making history for all the wrong reasons. Fans called them the worst charter guests in Below Deck history.

Erica Rose returned with her mom, Cindi Rae Rose, and her husband, Charles Sanders. Chief stew Daisy Kelliher was not excited about her returning, and the two have been in a war of words ever since. In fact, the charter guests haven’t stopped talking about their time on the yacht.

Erica Rose explains the reason for the low tip

Erica made an appearance on the Another Below Deck podcast . She explained that her fellow guests refused to contribute to their tip. The group knew they were responsible for the tip. While they were aware of the rules, they didn’t want to tip the hard-working crew members.

“The whole group is responsible for tipping. We had to pick up the slack for everyone else because no one else tipped.”

As Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans know, the crew busted their behinds to make the charter guests happy. In a previous episode, Erica’s husband Charles received backlash for calling the food “disgusting” and that he had better at a “ballpark.” He claims that producers told him to call out Chef Marco Spaziani’s food.

The couple said that all of the guests had to contribute to the tip. If that were the case, that would’ve brought the tip to $25,000. She claims they had a serious conversation about the tip before leaving the boat. Yet, her former friends have a different story as well as the proof.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 crew got the worst tip in history

Both Erica and Charles got called out for their lies. Per Monsters & Critics , fellow charter guests Rhett and Janelle Flatt said they have proof of a conversation she had with Erica. Janelle took to her Instagram account to share screenshots of their text message exchange. She claims that Erica lied about the tip.

In the text message exchange, Janelle asked Erica how much they should tip the crew. Erica responded, “Our price includes tip! We can bring cash and tip extra if we want. I over tipped last time. I think prices is ($) 5000/ per person including tip!! Not per couple. [SIC].”

Erica also seemingly wrote, “So it’s like ($) 3,000 per person, the $900 required tip and then ($)1,100 airfare is how it comes out to $5,000.”

Rhett became the hero of the show when he called out Charles for slamming the food. In another scene at their beach lunch, Charles called Janelle a “b***,” Rhett approached him and threatened to punch him out. Many Below Deck Sailing Yacht fans praised him for it. Janelle had more to say on Instagram and said they were never friends of Erica and Charles.

Janelle is a hairstylist and Erica was one of her clients. Erica invited her to the yacht trip, and of course, she wanted to go. But the moment they left the yacht, she fired Erica. The two are no longer speaking.

What are your thoughts on the tip? Do you agree that it’s the worst in the show’s history? Sound off below in the comment section. Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.

Haha, sure. You understand that no one believes your made up story.

Not just the worst guests, Charles, Erica, and Cindi are horrible humans. However, producers do pull people aside and give directions for story line. Charles may be telling the truth about that one thing, especially since he praised the dinner at first. Best dinner he ever had, apparently. I wish producers would stop. It doesn’t have to be drama all the time!!!

The most classless was LaQuisah from episode 13 season 10. She requested gold steak. She was a pain in the a– 7 a HUGE glutton. You can tell that she eats at Popeyes, and Red Lobster, and would take all the shrimp even if she didn’t eat it.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 Cast: Where Are They Now?

Here's what happened to Daisy, Colin, Captain Glenn and the rest of the Parsifal crew.

preview for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 trailer (Bravo)

Considering the series filmed in August 2020, viewers are curious about the whereabouts of our Sailing Yacht favorites...and, more importantly, how the cast and crew managed to film for several weeks amid lockdown. As it turns out, the location of this season was chosen intentionally. At that time, Croatia remained one of few countries in the EU to accept American tourists. In a Reddit AMA , a producer for the show also explained that maintaining safety protocols (which likely included regular Covid testing) was key in filming this season.

Here's what happened to your favorite crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2:

Colin Macrae

Colin Macrae might serve as the Chief Engineer aboard the Parsifal III, however, when it comes to the inner workings of his relationship, things aren’t as black and white. Despite gushing over his relationship with Martina Alvarez last summer, Macrae revealed that he and Martina have officially parted ways. “Unfortunately my relationship with Martina came to an end a couple of months ago,” Colin captioned his most recent YouTube video . Although his romance is no more, Colin remains optimistic for what’s to come as he embarks on a “fresh start” in none other than Panama. Colin has also continued his efforts in creating content online documenting his many adventures in Linton Bay, Panama , where he’s resided over the course of the last few months.

Glenn Shephard

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured captain glenn shephard photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Captain Glenn Shephard is back and better than ever! The sailboat captain may only have 2 seasons of Below Deck under his belt, but his 20 years of experience certainly make him a notable addition to the Bravo family. Since his summer in Croatia last year, Gl enn has since moved to Spain , which Shephard has deemed his new “happy place.” While becoming a Bravo-lebrity can go to one’s head, Glenn has remained modest when it comes to his newfound fame. The star now offers Zoom sessions with fans of the show, where he dishes on behind-the-scenes details all while sipping cocktails on the Spanish coast.

First Officer Gary King walked away from his very first season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht feeling nothing but grateful. “Reminiscing about the last 6 weeks that have just flown by. I learned lessons that I’ll carry for life,” Gary wrote on Instagram . While fans have been rooting for him and fellow stewardess, Alli Dore to set sails on a possible romance, it appears as King has been flying solo since the series ended. After traveling about to a number of stunning locations, including Mallorca, Spain, Gary returned home to South Africa just in time for Christmas. The Bravo star has since remained in his home country, occupying himself with a series of visits to the golf range and a new passion for landscape photography and cooking.

Natasha De Bourg

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured natasha de bourg photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

The Michelin-star chef has been tuning in this season from her home in the Bahamas, and, well, she hasn't taken to it favorably. The star has posted a series of pics on her Instagram detailing her frustrations with herself on the show, claiming that she is “human and humans are imperfect.” Luckily for Natasha, her friendship with both Dani and Alli has blossomed immensely since wrapping up, and the two have been a huge support for Natasha as she cruises through these waves of criticism.

Daisy Kelliher

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daisy kelliher photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Being the Chief Stewardess on any yacht is no easy feat, and Daisy Kelliher is certainly feeling the burn. Following her time at sea in Croatia, Daisy, unfortunately, broke her wrist and found herself back home with mom and dad in Ireland . During lockdown, Daisy accepted a job in Antigua two months later, however, due to the current situation, her efforts at finding adventure fell flat. “I had completely lost myself,” Daisy captioned her photo on Instagram , revealing she began pushing friends away and entered a dark space. Luckily for the Below Deck star, she feels like herself again and is set to start a new job. During a live chat, Daisy revealed to co-star, Sydney Zaruba that she is most likely headed back to Europe, although she’s left much of what she’ll be doing a mystery.

Dani Soares

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daniele soares photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Dani Soares soared to being a fan favorite this current season and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Soares, who reigns all the way from Brazil, has gone on to make quite a name for herself since her summer in Croatia. The star currently resides in Sydney, Australia where she is expecting her very first child. Dani revealed the news on social media back in April, however, both her due date and daddy status remain unknown. Although fans have inquired who the father is, Soares made it clear that it isn’t “anybody’s business.” As she embarks on her journey towards motherhood, Dani is currently working as a beauty therapist in the land down under all while taking in her recent rise to fame.

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured alli dore photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Alli Dore is the third stewardess to join the hit Bravo series, and boy are we glad she did. After wrapping up her summer in Croatia, Alli returned home to Australia, where she was born and raised. Her love for boating didn’t stop when the summer did, as she went on to spend her time in the Whitsundays Islands. As for Alli’s personal life, the star made an appearance on the Unpopular podcast where she revealed that she is pansexual. [I am] “attracted to people’s aura,” she revealed. Alli has gone on to start her very own IGTV series called Pita Party , which she stars in alongside Sailing Yacht co-stars, Daisy and Dani.

Sydney Zaruba

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured sydney zaruba photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Sydney Zaruba found herself in quite the love triangle last summer in Croatia, but today, she is all about keeping her inner circle small. Sydney, who was born and raised in Florida, moved on over to the stunning island of Mallorca, Spain where she currently works on a 42-meter sailing yacht! This is nothing new for Sydney; considering her experience on Below Deck and, of course, her long history of sailing with her family. In addition to being at sea, Sydney decided to become a travel agent with Explorateur Travel. While the cast of Sailing Yacht has gone their separate ways since the summer ended, Sydney still managed to bump into none other than Captain Glenn on the streets of Palma.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured jean luc cerza lanaux photo by laurent bassetbravonbcu photo bank via getty images

Jean-Luc may be the youngest Below Deck crew member but he certainly makes up for it in height? Following his summer working on the Parsifal III, Jean-Luc traveled to Mallorca, Spain, an idea many of his co-stars had as well. Shortly after, the 25-year-old made his way on over to Costa Rica , which he’s called home for the last several months. Despite the remarkable views, Jean-Luc is entering some rocky waters as a plethora of rumors have surfaced questioning his role in Dani Soares’ pregnancy. Not only have fans been flooding his social media with questions concerning whether he’s the father or not, but fellow charter guest, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow also went on to add fuel to the fire. In an Instagram video posted back in April, Barrie claimed that Jean-Luc “was too busy getting the other one [Dani] pregnant … He’s gonna be a daddy,” he said. While Dani laughed off the comment, Jean-Luc has yet to address the rumors.

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht Crew Had Their Hands Full With Memorable AF Charter Guests

Take a closer look at the entertaining charter guests from may 17's episode of below deck sailing yacht ..

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew just couldn't catch a break.

On the Monday, May 17 episode, Captain Glenn Shephard and company scrambled to assess the damage following last week's boat crash . Although the situation wasn't great, they were able to do a quick cosmetic fix since the transom door was able to open.

The drama didn't stop there as deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux panicked that he had "f--king chlamydia…again." On top of all of this, the charter guests were a demanding group of ladies, who expected nothing less than perfection.

For starters, there was co-primary charter guest  Erica , who requested that the interior crew unpack all of the luggage. Oh, and while "seasick" (AKA seemingly intoxicated) she asked Captain Glenn to make the ship stop rocking in a thunderstorm.

Sorry, Erica. The man's a sea captain, not Poseidon.

There was also charter guest Bianca , who upset her peers by wearing a Trump campaign bikini. "I just hate getting political," co-primary charter guest Jess snapped after Bianca's "Titties for Trump" declaration.

Speaking of Jess, later on, first mate Gary King and chief engineer Colin Macrae were ripped into after they were caught gossiping about the guests. In Jess' defense, it was unprofessional. Yet, by causing a scene she was proving their point that this group was bound to be a handful.

This is only a taste of what went down on tonight's episode. We're, of course, talking about the seemingly out of nowhere fight where Bianca accused the other ladies of bullying and slut-shaming her.

We have a feeling this is the "challenging" group that chief stewardess Daisy Kelliher teased to E! News earlier this month. "There's definitely one more group that, you know, for me, really stuck out," she said at the time. "I thought they were all actually fine. I really enjoyed all of them but, there were two that were definitely a bit more difficult and a bit more challenging."

For a closer look at these ladies and more interesting Below Deck charter guests, scroll through the images below.

The Bravo franchise has had plenty of dramatic and crazy moments thanks to some unruly and demanding guests, including Georgia , who was a little too flirty with no-nonsense leader Captain Lee Rosbach .

Sometimes, you just want a foam party—at least, that's what this demanding guest asked for. Was it eyebrow-raising to see him drunkenly partying in what ended up being about four inches of foam? Yes. Was it still epic because of how excited he was? Also yes.

Where do we start with Delores ? The season eight Below Deck charter guest made a splash, literally and figuratively, after she drunkenly jumped into the ocean late at night. To make matters worse, this swimming session was in direct defiance to Captain Lee's order to stay on the boat. In a first for his career, Captain Lee ended Delores' charter early and sent her packing.

However, while being escorted away on the tender, Delores jumped into the ocean. Bold move, lady.

Barrie boarded the Parsifal III with his blended family, including his current fiancé and his ex-husband, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . With such a large guest list, the crew was certainly put to work, especially chef Natasha . Not only did Barrie have no problem sending his breakfast back, but he also refused to have his family served buffet-style.

The first charter of Below Deck season eight was certainly a memorable one. We're, of course, talking about when the charter guests found themselves bickering over deckhand  James Hough . Specifically, charter guest Shay called dibs on the British yachtie. However, her boatmance hopes were derailed when pal Lexi flirtatiously rode a jet ski with James. Thus, a fight broke out over dinner, which shocked the Below Deck crew.

It was ladies night on the high seas in this episode of  Below Deck Mediterranean , but as the drinks flowed, some of the women started to get a little handsy  with deckhand  Jack Stirrup . Thankfully,  Captain Sandy swooped in to save the day.

The crew aboard this ship got a show they didn't ask for when two of the guests hooked up in the crow's nest, a part of the ship that everyone could see on camera.

In the same episode that the crew witnessed the on-deck hookup of two of their guests, they also discovered that their passengers also had never heard of cleaning up after themselves when they stumbled upon a used condom on the nightstand.

For the most part, the charter guest is always right. However, in season two of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , charter guest Erica requested that Captain Glenn Shephard do something to make the ship stop rocking. Unfortunately for Erica, they were in the middle of a thunderstorm and Captain Glenn didn't have the power to control the weather.

Other highlights from this charter group include a woman with hours worth of stories, bullying accusations among the ladies and so much more.

While many guests on  Below Deck have been demanding, this may be the most ridiculous request because of how random it was. On one of the episodes, guests demanded gumballs, but not just any gumballs. They had to be colored gumballs and they even threatened to require they be delivered by helicopter if there were none on board.

Not every guest has found their trip to be a five-star experience, but usually they stick around to give feedback as to why. On this episode of  Below Deck , we learn that a few of the guests straight-up ghosted upon arrival and fled the ship before even saying goodbye to the crew.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Mondays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.

The  Below Deck Sailing Yacht   cast is reuniting (virtually) to dish on the tumultuous latest season with Andy Cohen on  Watch What Happens Live .

Bravo announced the two-part reunion kicks off Monday, July 17 at 9:08 p.m. ET/PT following the season 2 premiere of  Below Deck Down Under . Part 2 of the reunion airs the following day on Tuesday, July 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

In a minute-long promo, the reunion promises "shocking new revelations," and explores the messy love triangle between chief stewardess Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae and first mate Gary King continues to be front and center.

At one point in the teaser, Colin appears to make Daisy cry when he addresses their relationship, calling it "toxic." "You can't reason with this woman," he says.

Earlier, Daisy maintained that she is able to "take criticism," but Cohen had a difficult time believing it, questioning her statement by asking, "Really?"

The two-part reunion also promises clear up what was going on with Gary and 3rd stewardess Mads Herrera's relationship amid his continued flirtation with Daisy.

"It was strange," Gary said in the teaser, likely in reference to the 3rd stewardess. "Because she would come and climb into my bed every night and try to have sex with me."

Plus, Colin hints there's information "nobody knows" -- not even the audience. What could it be? Watch the reunion teaser below.

Also taking part in the reunion are Captain Glenn Shephard, chef Ileisha Dell, 2nd stewardess Lucy Edmunds, deckhand Chase Lemacks and deckhand Alex Propson.

Ahead of season 4, ET spoke with Daisy about Gary's jealousy. "He had two seasons to try and pursue me, he chose not to," she said in April. "If I'm dating you for three years and you cheat on me, yeah, I’m gonna go sleep with your best friend or your brother, probably. Like, I've done it in the past, I'm probably gonna do it again. But me and Gary were never anything, you know? I'm not quite sure what he thought that I was trying to gain from that. We were never in a relationship."

"I felt like there was a bit of an ego, you know? His ego was hurt," Daisy added. "I think that was more of it than he actually wanted to be with me. But yeah, it was kind of surprising to hear. It was weird when I was like, 'You had two years to tell me you liked me, and now you're choosing to tell me?'"

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

The challenge 40: battle of the eras - news, release date, cast, & everything we know, 90 day fiancé: when did michael go missing (his disappearance timeline explained).

  • Gary King likely to appear in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 despite troubling allegations.
  • Allegations of sexual misconduct against Gary surfaced between seasons, but he continued filming.
  • Season 5's release has been delayed, possibly due to editing Gary's presence in the show.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 is likely going to feature First Officer Gary King , despite the troubling allegations lodged against him during the show’s off-season. Throughout Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 , many were concerned about the increasingly troubling behavior of Gary, who’s been part of the show since season 2. While he’s always been somewhat of a playboy, Gary’s behavior with women got increasingly difficult to watch as he continued further along in his journey with the franchise. Confident in himself, Gary was open about what he was interested in, sometimes getting overly physical with women on deck.

While Gary’s behavior hasn’t always been over the top, there were some serious sexual misconduct allegations lodged against the Below Deck Sailing Yacht star after the last season of the series. Even though Gary was known to be somewhat concerning with women , Bravo continued with another season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . In between the last season ending and the next season filming, allegations were made against Gary by a makeup artist that was hired by the series, and the account of her interactions with the First Officer gave viewers pause about seeing him on another season of the show.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Gary Has Always Had A Bad Reputation

Throughout his time on Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Gary has been one of the more difficult yachties to pin down. While he's been fun in some instances, the majority of Gary's time on the show has been spent showing off his womanizer tendencies. Whether it's flirting with the women aboard the sailing yacht as charter guests, being somewhat too touchy with his fellow crew, or bragging about things he's done outside of the scope of the superyacht, Gary's always been known for his scandalous relationships with women . As he's moved through the series, his behavior has become increasingly uncomfortable.

Though viewers were willing to accept Gary as a part of the crew early on in the series, as the show evolved, he became more of a problem for the people around him which in turn became more disturbing to watch. During Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 , Gary's behavior towards Mads Herrera was troubling for some viewers. Even before the allegations of sexual misconduct, Gary was a struggle for some viewers to get behind , and after the accusations became public, many called for his removal from the series.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 5 Filmed Despite Allegations

While the allegations against Gary were serious, Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 had already begun filming when they became public. Though Gary's behavior throughout the series could've been enough of a red flag to remove him from the crew, he was kept on as First Officer on Parsifal III, which means his appearance in the next season of the series is inevitable. While many Below Deck viewers have taken issue with Gary's behavior in the past , it wasn't taken seriously in the years that the show has been on, but with serious allegations afoot, very little can be done.

Gary's appearance on Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 was confirmed early on in the filming process by the First Officer himself, who shared on Instagram that the show was filming another season. While Bravo distanced themselves from Gary after the allegations came out, they only seemed to care to do so after audiences called for Gary's removal from a BravoCon lineup, as well as the show itself. Though the network has taken action, some still feel like it's too little, too late considering Gary was a part of the already filmed Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 .

Gary Is Likely Too Baked Into The Season To Be Edited Out

Many have been curious as to what's taking so long for Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 to be released, as the show has been finished filming for nearly a year. While there has been enough time and space for the editing team to put together a normal season of Below Deck , there's likely a much bigger challenge when it comes to Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5. Knowing that Gary's featured in the season , many have speculated that the editors have been hopeful they'd be able to remove Gary from the show as much as possible to save face.

While Gary has been heavily featured in every other season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , he'll likely be edited out of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 as much as he can be. Even with the power of editing, though, Gary has been a major part of the series and was likely one of the major story points of the season. It doesn't seem likely to me that he'll be able to get removed from the show in most facets without the season being entirely re-filmed. Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 will be fascinating when it finally comes out.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 4 Recap: Bad Food Sinks Charter #2

Welcome to the  Below Deck Mediterranean  Season 9, Episode 4 recap! In this week’s episode, called “Greeking Havoc,” self-taught Chef Jono’s job could be on the line when his continued poor performance in the galley affects the crew’s charter tip. The deck crew questions the Bosun’s leadership skills, and Joe plays with fire by flirting with co-workers and roommates Bri and Elena simultaneously. Will he get burned? Here are some of the highlights from Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, Episode 4.

The Beach Olympics

Deckhands unite on Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 4.

Last week, Sandy’s friend and charter guest, Gigi Fernandez, complained to the captain about Jono’s subpar food. This week’s episode opens with Sandy calling Chef Jono to the bridge. She questions him about the over-spiced food and the eggs served cold.

He gave the excuse that breakfast was scheduled for 8:30, but the guests slept late. Sandy reminds him that eggs are always made “to order,” so he should never prepare them ahead of time. She sees his excuses as a “huge red flag.”

“At the same time, he did well last charter, [and] we’re mid-charter now,” the captain adds. “I have to give the chef the opportunity to show me he can do this. Finish this one strong, and then I’ll assess the next charter.”

The guests have asked for a picnic on the beach. The plan is to have lunch, and then play some Beach Olympic games. Iain thinks he doesn’t have to plan anything, since Sandy told him that Gigi would let him know what she wants.

Aesha suggests that he come up with a couple of ideas, just so it’s ready, but he insists Gigi will tell him. “Yes, Sandy said Gigi will know what she wants,” the chief stew says in a confessional. “But that doesn’t mean that she’s supposed to set it up for you and plan everything. I think he just heard Sandy say that and thought, ‘Sweet! Free pass!’”

Even Gael suggests they look up what the Greek Olympics would have looked like, but Iain is adamant, “[Gig] will tell us.” You’d think he’d need to know what equipment to bring to the beach.

“Okay,” Gael says, giving in. “I just didn’t want to be underprepared.”

An awkward situation on Below Deck Mediterranean

A view of the jet skis on Below Deck Mediterranean.

Iain drops Joe and Gael at the beach, leaving them to lug all the tables and chairs to the picnic site and set everything up, while he motors back to the boat. That’s not what Sandy told him to do. She said to make sure everything was ready before returning for the guests.

“There’s no leadership at all,” Joe interviews. “Iain could have helped.”

The guests are antsy to get to the beach and keep asking when they can go. Iain tells them five minutes, so they happily get into the small boat. When Iain radios the captain that all the guests are en route to the beach, Joe and Gael panic. They are nowhere near ready.

“Not a ‘Guests are departing soon,’ or ‘Is the beach set up?’” Gael interviews. “It’s “Guests are on their way.’ Huh?!” Not cool, Iain.

When Aesha arrives, Gael explains that things are “really not set up at all.”

“Why have you guys not set up any games or anything?” Aesha asks. Joe says they just haven’t had time. Also Iain refused to plan anything.

Privately, Joe tells Gael, “Iain f*cked up here, yeah?”

“Absolutely,” she responds.

Meanwhile, the guests are enjoying their picnic lunch. They’re saying things like “incredible,” “amazing,” and “Mmmm!” Aesha’s happy to hear it.

Joe’s in an “awkward situation.” He respects Iain as his boss, but he’s upset at the way the whole beach setup was mishandled. The guests should never have arrived before everything was set up. It’s just unprofessional. He wants to say something, but doesn’t want to “step on his [boss’s] toes.”

Gael’s upset also. “He didn’t even acknowledge that the three of us just whipped it out of our asses and made it work anyway,” she says.

Another disappointing meal

Chef Jono receives another lukewarm review on Below Deck Med Season 9.

Even though he got raves at lunch, dinner is another story for Jono. He serves seafood gazpacho, which gets a lukewarm review from Gigi. When she asks him what that [unpleasant] spice is that she tastes, he tells her he’s never made gazpacho before and he had to Google “somebody’s grandma’s recipe.” Sandy interviews, “This is a superyacht. The food shouldn’t just be okay. It should be excellent. Jono is [zero] for two now.” Also, you don’t admit you had to Google a recipe when you’re cooking on a super yacht. It’s tacky.

As Aesha watches Jono plate overcooked lava cake with a scoop of melty ice cream, she silently laments, “What is this?!” The guests are only mildly enthusiastic when dessert is placed before them. I couldn’t tell if they were moaning with pleasure or disgust.

“It’s only Charter 2,” the chief stew interviews, “[But] I’ve felt myself question too many of the chef’s dishes … I think I need to maybe start saying something to him.”

In the meantime, the guests (and Captain Sandy) aren’t loving their desserts either. When Sandy asks everyone how their meal was, the best they can do is to say it was “interesting.” That’s what you say when it was horrible, but you don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings.

“The entire meal was subpar,” Sandy says in a confessional. “I’m gonna get through this charter, and when the guests get off, I’m gonna have a very real conversation with Johnathan … But I am definitely looking for a backup.”

Departure day

Chief Stew Aesha Scott having a blast whilst preparing drinks on Below Deck Med.

Everyone meets on the dock to say goodbye. “We had an amazing time,” Gigi says. “The day at the beach was outstanding … The food was [just] okay.” Sandy gives Jono a meaningful look.

“It was hit or miss,” Gigi continues. “So this [tip] represents a little bit of that.”

“I feel like Gigi’s comment about the food was definitely fair,” Aesha interviews. “I just hope that Jono really takes it on board, ’cause I don’t want to be embarrassed about any plate that I put down next charter.”

Sandy congratulates the deck team on how the picnic went (she doesn’t know the half of it). She tells Jono they’ll discuss the food later on the bridge. Sandy calls Aesha’s Greek party “epic” and says the guests loved it.

Finally, the tip is $25,000, $2000 per person! It’s only because Sandy is Gigi’s friend.

Later, Sandy calls Jono to the bridge. She’s not happy that he served chicken on Chef’s Choice night. Chicken is pretty pedestrian for a superyacht, and his plating is lackluster.

“Other than that,” she added, ending on a positive note, “you don’t lose your mind in the galley.” Fans of the show remember how many divas we’ve seen meltdown in the galley. Jono again mentions that he’s a “self-trained” chef and sees criticism as a growth opportunity.

“I know we’re only in Charter 2,” Sandy interviews. “The food has to be perfect from Charter 1. But in the past, I’ve given second chances … The one thing I’m not gonna wait on is finding another chef, just in case he doesn’t come through.”

As soon as he leaves, we see Sandy texting Yacht Crew Placement: “Hi, Norma. Do you have any chefs available? I need someone on standby.”

Joe keeps his options open on Below Deck Mediterranean

Below Deck Med's Joe Bradley causing a heat wave in the interior.

Deckhand Joe is simultaneously flirting with both Elena and Bri. Elena says, “I would not kick Joe out of bed.” Not only are they co-workers, but they’re cabin mates, so Joe should tread lightly.

Serving dinner, Joe and Elena obviously flirt with each other, making Bri uncomfortable. “Do [they] really have to do this in front of me?” she interviews.

In the laundry room, they joke about Joe, saying, “I thought you liked him!”

“Look,” Elena says, “no matter what happens, I’m not planning to be fighting with anybody over boys because I don’t see a future with any of them … we’re here for fun.”

But later that night, it’s Bri’s turn to flirt with Joe, rubbing Ellie the wrong way. “She knows I’m attracted to him,” she says. “Working on a boat, you never want to go for the guy your supervisor is interested in.” Supervisor?! Who promoted her to supervisor?

As things heat up on the dance floor, Ellie decides, “I’m going for Joe … We’re getting it on. Not tonight, but pretty soon.”

In the ladies’ room, Gael thinks Bri is about to explode, and says, “Talk to me.”

Bri admits that she talked to Ellie earlier today and admitted that she likes Joe. They know they’re both going for the same guy.

“We’re all stuck on a boat,” Gael says. “It’s six weeks. Sometimes you need a f*ck.”

“We’ll see what happens,” Bri says. But later, Joe jokingly asks if Bri would “suck Nathan’s d*ck.” She thinks a minute before answering, “I’d take yours.”

He’s speechless. And so are we. Until next time…

Below Deck Med’s Best (And Worst) Boatmances

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

You get to know your crew members intimately when you’re trapped on a boat for six weeks, especially on Below Deck Med . As most of the yachties are young, hot, and field up, a few inevitably end up falling for one another. Whether it is a one-night stand or something more, there are some pretty interesting boatmances on Below Deck Mediterranean .

Jess and Rob (Worst)

During Below Deck Med Season 5, Rob Westergaard and Jess More were attached to each other’s hips right from the start. Jess had a bad case of the green-eyed monster that she couldn’t tame. So when Aesha Scott put her arm around Rob for a charter guest picture, all hell broke loose. The model became upset and started believing something was happening between Aesha and Rob. She distrusted Rob, especially when she found out he was texting an ex-girlfriend.

But Rob was emotionally invested in Jess. His lust for her impaired his performance on the job, and Jess also started to struggle. The two fought often and hard, which created a tense atmosphere for everyone. Even though they left the boat together to head off to Bali, they have since broken up.

Malia and Adam (Worst)

From the moment Malia White stepped onto the yacht she was considered one of the hottest deckhands by the men. Before Below Deck Med Season 2 started filming, Adam Glick revealed he and Malia had a physical relationship. However, what really happened remains sort of a mystery. As the season progressed it was clear Adam was envisioning a future with the now bosun. But Malia had her eye on another prize, Wes Walton .

Malia once told Bravo “I just think after getting to know Adam a little more, he’s quick to get invested into something. He falls, and he falls hard, and I didn’t realize that.” In the end, she ended up picking Wes. The duo dated for a few years but have since gone their separate ways.

Aesha and Jack (Best)

As Below Deck Med fans know, Aesha has found her one true love in her fiance, Scott Dobson . But before moving to Colorado and falling madly in love, she had a romance with Liverpool’s Jack Stirrup . The duo was perhaps the best romance in the series, as they always had smiles and kind words for one another. Jack was awkward but showed love for Aesha by planning a surprise date complete with champagne.

It was hard for viewers and their co-workers not to root for them. Even though they did try to date after the charter season ended, the two didn’t survive. It was reported that Jack left Aesha for his ex. But all that is in the past as Aesha plans her upcoming wedding.

Natalya and Storm (Worst)

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 7 gave us Storm Smith and Natalya Scudder . It wasn’t the healthiest relationship by a long shot, but it was highly entertaining on reality TV. Even though Storm helped Natalya escape the pressure of the seasons, the two were boiling pots of emotions. Storm seemed to want to make the relationship work, but Nat kept causing pointless fights, especially after drinking. Fans thought that Natalya was passively agreeing with Storm. So, thankfully, the two decided to leave the drama on the yacht and walk away from one another.

Tash and Dave (Worst)

Perhaps one of the worst Below Deck Med boatmances has had to be Natasha Webb and Dave White . Before embarking on Season 7, Tash and Dave had hooked up on their previous boat. But the chief stew wanted to keep it a secret from the crew. This move ate Dave up inside. The chef would lash out every time he had a drink. The relationship was beyond problematic as the crew was severely disrupted.

Their issues spilled over into service during a wine-pairing dinner, which was uncomfortable for everyone. Dave then called Tash every name under the sun and moved out of his shared bunk room with her.

Luka and Natalya and Jessika (Best)

Season 8’s Luka Brunton was a smokeshow. Upon boarding the yacht, Luka formed a very flirty relationship with Natalya. The two were cute. Both were good-looking, and they seemed mostly harmless. At the time, Nat was trying to figure out her open relationship with her boyfriend back on land. Eventually, Nat left the boat, and Luka turned his sights to Jessika Asai . The two ended up having a season-long boatmance, but it fizzled out. The connections just seemed like harmless flirting in the end.

Below Deck Med Chef Jono is '0 for 2' after lackluster meal — and he's on Captain Sandy's radar

Could he be walking the plank soon?

Chef Johnathan Shillingford seemingly sailed through the first Below Deck Mediterranean charter, but the seas are getting rocky in the galley when he turns out a less than stellar performance for Captain Sandy Yawn and primary guest Gigi Fernandez on tonight's episode.

In an exclusive clip shared with Entertainment Weekly above, former tennis star Fernandez seems disappointed with yet another meal on Mustique, which is starting to worry Captain Sandy. The main course sounds delicious enough: fresh pasta with cacio e pepe and delicious jumbo tiger prawns and seared scallops.

But as Captain Sandy and her guests dig in, silence falls over the table. Fernandez notes that Chef Jono added "spice again" to the dish. "What is that spice?" she asks.

"The one you don't like," replies Captain Sandy. Another guest says the spice doesn't "agree with her palette."

As the guests struggle through their meal, Chef Jono pulls the dessert from the oven and realizes the cakes he prepared are overdone. "I can see they are overdone and I'm just like, 'F--- me,'" he says in a confessional.

In her own confessional, an exasperated Captain Sandy explains, "This is a superyacht. The food shouldn't just be okay. It should be excellent. Jono is 0 for two now."

Fred Jagueneau/Bravo

The chef plays one of the most important roles on a superyacht, which means having the proper training and focus is key in delivering that magical five-star experience charter guests expect. As a seasoned yacht captain, Captain Sandy knows what it takes to be successful in the galley.

"Sometimes I think people have to stay focused on their job because maybe they don't have the experience they say they do," Captain Sandy tells EW. "I think a lot will be revealed throughout the season. But I like [Chef Jono] personally. He's a great guy."

But one issue for Captain Sandy is that Chef Jono didn't have formal culinary training. While she doesn't discount a self-trained chef, Captain Sandy knows not having that training can make the job a little harder.

"I don't think it's fair to chefs when you have someone who is self taught, because you don't have the education like Dave, right?" she asks, comparing Jono to Below Deck Med season 7 chef Dave White. Chef Dave, who is a classically trained chef, also catered Captain Sandy's recent wedding aboard a superyacht.

"So Dave and Jonathan, [they're] night and day, and you see things and you think, 'Okay, well, so far so good,'" she says. "And if the guests aren't complaining, I just try to encourage without discouraging in a way where I'm not saying they're not at the level that I'm expecting. How do you do that? That is always the question for me. I just ponder and think what's the best way to approach this? And the person's under stress. You don't want to create more stress. You're a human being. And I always think about that human element."

Aesha is beloved by Captain Sandy for plenty of reasons, one of which is her professionalism.

"The deck team is still finding their feet. We haven't had the greatest last charter with the chef . I don't need my interior to fall apart," Captain Sandy explains while discussing how she doesn't want Aesha to be down for the count.

Aesha Scott Reveals the Surprising Reason “It Was Scary” to Work with Sandy Again

With that being said, before she leaves the boat, Aesha goes and touches base with her stewardesses.

"If I'm not back in time, [we'll need] welcome drinks, towels," she tells Elena Dubaic h and Bri Muller .

In a confessional, she adds that she's very worried about missing the next batch of guests' arrival. "We're getting guests on in three hours," Aesha says. "There's not much time to go to a Greek hospital, get it looked at, and get back to the boat."

Will she make it back? Watch the latest episode of  Below Deck Mediterranean  on Monday, July 1 at 9/8c to find out.
