South Jersey Yacht Sales was originally established in 1980 in Cape May, NJ by then owner Dick Weber. The goal was to establish and maintain a first class yacht sales organization that could satisfy a consumer’s need for superior sportfishing boats. Dick brought aboard acclaimed product lines and combined them with a talented sales and support staff to form the cornerstone of his company.

In 2016 Dick had decided to retire from boat sales and sold South Jersey Yacht Sales to its new owner George Robinson. George having been an avid fisherman and boater for over 40 years comes to South Jersey Yacht Sales with a passion and desire to make South Jersey Yacht Sales the premier dealer for both new and used boats. He brings energy and enthusiasm from his love of boating to his new business.

South Jersey Yacht Sales proudly has six locations to best serve our clients. In October 2020, South Jersey Yacht Sales purchased what was formally known as C-Jam Yacht Sales and Marina in Somers Point, NJ which houses a showroom, full-service yard, 40 slip marina, and lift well with haul out capabilities up to 70 tons. Along with the purchase of C-Jam Yacht Sales and Marina came their facility in Egg Harbor Township, NJ which houses our subsidiary Chart House Marine Electronics & Outfitting, another service building, and a winter storage yard. Our office in Cape May, NJ is located at the premier Canyon Club Resort and Marina, a full-service boating facility. Our Point Pleasant location was added to help better serve our customers located in the central and northern parts of New Jersey. We also recently established an office at the Brielle Yacht Club. This location puts us in the heart of the sportfishing community in central and northern New Jersey.

Finally, our location in North Palm Beach, FL allows South Jersey Yacht Sales to establish a brokerage presence in Florida and help better service our North / South clients. South Jersey Yacht Sales has an established sales team comprised of 10 salesmen all with plenty of experience within the industry. South Jersey Yacht Sales Breaks New Ground At Somers Point Facility

South Jersey Yacht Sales, New Jersey’s premier sportfishing boat dealer, has announced plans for numerous capital improvements to the showroom and service area at their Somers Point location at 680 Bay Avenue.   According to George C. Robinson III, President and Owner of South Jersey Yacht Sales, the improvements are a continuation of the commitment to upgrade the 12-plus acre facility after acquiring the site in late 2020.

“Our vision when we purchased the showroom and marina two years ago was to upgrade the property and transform it into a state-of-the-art sales office and best-in-industry service center,” Robinson said, adding “The new South Jersey Yacht Sales Showroom and Corporate Headquarters to be built here as well as the other upgrades we have planned for the marina associated with the new showroom’s construction will fulfill that goal.”

With groundbreaking set for this winter and a completion date expected in mid-November of 2023, the plans call for a new 10,500-square foot showroom which will provide ample floor space to display center console boats up to 60 feet.  In addition to the latest in energy efficient mechanical, lighting, insulation, roofing and climate control systems, a specially designed heated flooring system for winter climate days will also be installed.

Additionally, 12 separate offices are planned for South Jersey Yacht Sales administrative and sales professional staff. Office space will also be provided for Dynamic Stabilizer Company, New Jersey’s authorized SeaKeeper sales and installation leader. Video display boards for all boat lines including Albemarle, Invincible, Jupiter, Valhalla Boatworks, Viking Yachts and Yellowfin will allow clients to easily view all models at a quick glance. Product display areas for Electrosea, SeaKeeper, Spot Zero, Release Marine, Yamaha and Mercury as well as equipment and services offered by Chart House Marine Electronics and Outfitting will provide an opportunity to learn more about equipment and service available from South Jersey Yacht Sales and its affiliates.

In addition to the new showroom, several major capital improvements are planned for the service center and the marina. Among the upgrades to be completed over the winter is a thorough dredging of the entire 42-slip marina to accommodate larger vessels. All new composite bulkheading and a new marina outer breakwater are also being installed. The rebuild of the 24 by 75-foot liftwell has been completed to better accommodate a 70 metric ton Travelift. Anew concrete forklift launch/haul pad will be installed and a total remodeling of the service center office building will include the addition of a kitchen and a customer waiting lounge.

“These improvements to our facility in Somers Point will help us continue to be the leader in sportfishing yacht sales and service in the region for many years to come,” Robinson noted.

South Jersey Yacht Sales gets new owner

CAPE MAY — A local yacht dealer has a new owner.

George C. Robinson III has acquired South Jersey Yacht Sales, a yacht dealer with offices in Cape May and Point Pleasant, according to a news release.

The business, previously owned by Dick Weber, has sold fishermen sport-fishing boats in the area since 1984, the release said.

The release did not list a sale price.

Robinson said acquiring South Jersey Yacht Sales is a “valuable opportunity,” citing a growing customer base and a location near three major U.S. cities. Robinson anticipates year-over-year growth for high quality sport-fishing boats in the region, the release said.

“The love that my family and I have of sportfishing and travelling from Nantucket to the Exumas and points in between by boat has led us here today,” Robinson said in a statement. “I believe that with a combination of my family’s boating and fishing experiences and the experienced business team at your disposal at South Jersey Yacht Sales, the purchase of your next boat will a most positive and memorable experience.”

South Jersey Yacht Sales, New Jersey’s premier dealer of luxury sportfishing vessels, announces the Grand Opening of their new showroom and yacht sales offices in Cape May County. A culmination of nearly two years of planning, design and construction, the nearly 12,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is located at 680 Bay Avenue in Somers Point, just a mile from Great Egg Harbor Inlet, and features energy efficient construction throughout with floor space to display center console vessels up to 60’. Somers Point is the epicenter of boating in Cape May County and this new showroom offers a convenient location for South Jersey Yacht Sales to provide sales and service for their premium brands including Albemarle, Invincible, Jupiter, Sea Pro, Viking, Valhalla and Yellowfin. Additionally, the new showroom houses South Jersey Yacht Sales corporate offices and Atlantic Horizon Capital, the financing arm of South Jersey Yacht Sales. Clients can also get expert advice and outfitting of their vessel by Chart House Marine Electronics and Outfitting. The showroom’s vast floor space also provides display areas for premium marine products including Seakeeper and Seakeeper Ride by Dynamic Stabilizers. Starting at a young age of 9 years old Scott went to work at a local marina in his hometown just so that he could be on boats. He started out mopping rental boats before owning his own boat at age 10. He grabbed an old garvey from the marina, fixed it up and started a small crabbing business. By the age 11 he was running around Great Bay in his own AquaSport center console.

His passion for offshore began while canyon fishing with the owner of the marina at a very young age. By the age 14, Scotts catches included Big-eye, yellowfin, bluefin and both marlin species. Frequent trips to the Keys where his grandparents lived only helped grow his passion. Sailfish, wahoo and grouper were added to this list. By age 15 he was mating on a tournament sport fishing boat, which he eventually took over the helm before starting his own charter business the “Jolly Mon” out of Tuckerton NJ. In addition to running his own boat, he would mate and Captain different boats throughout the seasons.

Attended Richard Stockton College as a Criminal Justice/Political Science major before heading off to Captain a 46’ Ocean Yachts from NJ to the Florida Keys, including the Bahamas.

Ready to settle down at age 24 years old, he decided to work close to home as a startup Captain for Ocean Yachts. Through the years he was promoted to the Customer Service/Warranty/Quality Control manager and ran the company Demos for a few years. Specifically the 40 Ocean and the new 37 Billfish. While working for Ocean Yachts, Scott continued to perform side work as a Captain running to the edge.

In 2008 Scott left Ocean Yachts to become the General Manager of a large Industrial Engines Company. His priorities were operating the management of the company, employees and sales. Scott’s experience on the water as a USCG Licensed Captain with a remarkable business background and work ethic makes him the perfect person to have working for you, whether pursing your dreams for a new boat or looking to sell your current boat.

Wayne and Genine Puglise have been building boats together for 20 years.  Wayne came into the Bertram Yard where Genine worked for some warranty repairs. Jesse fell in love with boating and being on the water at a very young age. Growing up on the shore town of Brigantine, New Jersey, he spent most of his summers on his families boat. Now, Jesse has a 26’ Grady White Sailfish to take him fishing, tubing, scuba diving, or just out for a relaxing day on the water. Beyond the world of yachting, Jesse is an avid traveler, having been to over 60 countries (so far), and all 7 continents. While in high school, Jesse started working as a Dockhand at Farley State Marina at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, and after a few years he worked his way up to become the Marina Manager. He worked as the Marina Manager for five years before switching over to the Yacht Broker industry. Captain Roger Leith jr is a life long resident of Cape May County, NJ. He has been married to his high school sweetheart since 1998 and has two sons 21 and 18. 

Born and raised right here next to the ocean gave him salt in his veins at an early age. He started out fishing with his Grandfather on a small Grady White when he was a child and that passion for fishing and boating stuck with him ever since. He has owned and operated several of his own personal boats from as small as a 14’ Carolina Skiff up to his current boat a Cape Horn 31T center console. He has also fished on many different boats over the years with friends on their boats and as a mate on charters and with a friend with Seakeeper in the Mid Atlantic 500. He is an avid fisherman and prefers fishing for pelagic fish offshore when he can but is happy fishing the local reefs and inshore lumps for all different species. His love for the boating lifestyle is what drives him to want to be an asset with Jersey Cape Yacht Sales. John Kornick started his career in yacht sales in 1984. Dick Weber of South Jersey Yacht Sales hired him away from a career in education and marina work on Chesapeake Bay. In 2019, he worked at Jersey Marine Yacht Sales until the owner decided to go home to Florida and work for a successful yacht company. 

Scott Krawiec and John  worked together ,when Scott was Customer Service Manager of Ocean Yachts. They have many of combined decades of experience with Ocean Yachts. This will definitely will be a great resource  to Jersey Cape Yacht Sales customers.

Justin Brown has more than 30 years of boating, fishing and recreational experience from New Jersey to Florida and the Bahamas. He grew up at the Jersey shore every summer visiting his grandparent’s home on the bay. Justin’s passion for being in, on and around the water developed and grew into his lifelong love of boating and fishing. After completing his boating safety course, Justin could be found on the family’s 18’ Sea Ray crabbing, fishing, or enjoying water skiing in the back bay’s of New Jersey. Originally from Pennsylvania, Justin graduated from Coastal Carolina University in South Carolina with a degree in Recreation and Sports Management. He spent his college summers working for South Jersey’s Wildwood Beach Patrol. For the past 11 years, Justin has focused on operations for large-scale events across the country. However, Justin's dedication to boating and fishing have remained a focal point of his life. He then decided to make South Jersey his permanent home after spending several years in Florida. Aboard his family’s 52’ Ocean Yacht, Justin learned offshore fishing at the hands of some of New Jersey’s most qualified captains and crews, while also gaining experience at marinas along the North East Coast. Justin’s passion paired with his knowledge has led to participating in tournament’s up and down the East Coast. He has transported numerous private vessels up to 65’ from New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida and the Bahamas. William "Bill" Smith was born and raised in Philadelphia. Bill Spent 35 years on the Philadelphia Police Department. Growing up, as well as going to High School Bill fished, crabbed and oystered on his families commercial fishing boat out of Whitman Maryland. Bill also had experience out in the Atlantic Ocean, along his journey Bill  was able to acquire his Captains License. Robert "Bob" Barrett is a South Jersey born and raised resident, raised on a farm in Berlin, NJ spending his summers farming and lounging in Long Beach Island from a very young age. At the age of 17 he had an old Glastron boat he would run down the Mullica River into the Great Bay fishing all day. At the age of 19, he joined the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller on the USS Nimitz, CVN-68 sailing from Norfolk Naval Station, after 4 years in the Navy, he got left the Navy and got his pilot's license at Cross Keys airport in Williamstown, NJ spending several years working for various small airlines until he decided to go into the Air Force Reserves flying the C-141B Starlifter and the KC-10A Extender flying in support of numerous worldwide conflicts. 

After 37 years of military service and 26 years with the Department of Defense, Bob retired from both to pursue his love of boating. After putting his daughters through school, Bob and his wife MaryLou listed their farm, had Scott Krawiec sell their 35 Ocean Ocean Super sport to purchased a 44 Ocean Yachts aft cabin to become full time live aboards. They spend their summers in New Jersey cruising the coast and maintaining a slip at Seaview Harbor where Jersey Cape Yachts Sales maintains one of their premier offices. Bob has been married to MaryLou Barrett for 36 years, together they have 2 daughters, Malynda Barrett and Amanda White and a beautiful granddaughter, Reagan Marie White. Bradley has been involved in the fishing and boating industry since he was 14, when Bradley got his first real boat job as a deckhand on a 65’ hatteras “thunder” that his uncle captained. Travis Scott's love for boats and the water started at the early age of 10 when he spent his summers in Ocean City, Maryland. Travis walked the docks and found his way to help the charter boat captains do what ever they needed for their fishing operations.

Buying his first boat at age 15, Travis began inshore fishing. Starting with an invite to run offshore when he was 19 has paved the path he now continues to follow today. After his offshore experience, Travis started mating on charter boats learning and building his offshore skills. At the age of 23 Travis took on the responsibility that many at this age would not even think of. Travis bought his first offshore boat. Today, Travis is on his third offshore boat  a 40' Luhrs Express. Travis is the proud owner of Canyon Hunter Sportfishing a charter business out of Indian River, DE.

Cody Melton has been apart of the boating world since before he even knew it. At the young age of 7 he caught his first yellowfin tuna aboard his grandfather’s 57’ Hatteras. At the age of 12 he landed his first bigeye tuna(also the first in his family) & at age 15 his first Blue Marlin. And at age 17 he purchased his first boat with his brother, a 28’ Carolina Classic. Since then the story continues along the same path now owning a 53’ Custom Carolina, the Jersey Nutz, a premier charter vessel running out of the Manasquan River.

As a USCG licensed captain, in addition to running charters with his brother RJ, Cody also runs & maintains a privately owned 50’ Henriques “Heavy Metals” full time out of Barnegat Light. This position has allowed Cody to demonstrate his professionalism and passion for fishing while being in the part of New Jersey he loves most – Long Beach Island. Cody recently purchased a house in Beach Haven West and has spent every summer on LBI for the past 15 years. After receiving his undergraduate degree from The College of New Jersey, with a bachelors in Business Management and a Minor in Law, he is now in the final year of his Master’s program at Rutgers University where he will be earning his Master’s in Business Administration come the Spring of 2019. Born and Raised on the water RJ Melton has been a part of the boating and fishing community for his entire life. All of RJ’s free time during his early years was either spent on his family’s boat fishing offshore, or working at the family diesel shop. When RJ was in College he and his brother Cody decided that they had such a love for the water that they wanted to start their own charter business. So by the age of 20 RJ and his brother purchased a boat and started Jersey Nutz Sport Fishing. Less than a year after starting his professional fishing career RJ earned his first major offshore fishing tournament victory taking home 1st overall heaviest tuna at the Manasquan River Marlin Tuna Club Open. Since that time RJ has been heavily involved in the Sport fishing industry, running their now 53’ Custom Carolina, logging over 50 trips a year to the north east canyons, performing multiple deliveries up and down the east coast, as well as handling the overall management of client vessels.

The South Jersey Yacht Sales Offshore Showdown has been a family staple year after year to get the team together to go fishing! From the fishing to the dockside hospitality, there is something for everyone to enjoy during this event.

Last year we were excited to announce the partnership of the Sport Fishing Championship as an additional feature to the event, which highlighted our teams fishing from Cape May and really put some of the best offshore fishing crews on the world stage as part of their broadcast.
