Over-The-Top Celebrity-Owned Yachts

celebrity yachts with helicopters

Being a star comes with a lot of perks, including plenty of luxurious vacations. But no getaway is more extravagant than those taken on a private yacht. To escape the stresses of their daily lives, these rich and famous figures shelled out for their own mega-vessels, which come equipped with everything from pools to gyms to movie theaters. Here’s a closer look at some of the biggest and most impressive yachts owned by celebrities.

Steve Jobs — Venus , $100 Million

celebrity yachts with helicopters

Venus was built specifically for the Apple founder, although it sadly wasn’t completed until a year after his death in 2011. The sleek superyacht, which remains under the ownership of the Jobs’ family, is 257 feet long and boasts an innovative glass-covered exterior design. As seen in photos shared with Boat International  in 2015, the bridge of the vessel is outfitted with seven 27-inch iMacs.

Roberto Cavalli — Roberto Cavalli , $14 Million

Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli enjoys cruising around in his eponymous boat, which is recognizable for its bold, colorful exterior. The yacht is reportedly coated in color-changing paint that includes a range of green, purple, blue and gold hues.

“Many people ask me, ‘Which color is your boat?’ Honestly, I don’t know because it depends on what time. In the morning, it’s a dark blue, and sometimes it’s even gold.” Cavalli said of the design, per Racked .

Domenico Dolce And Stefano Gabbana — Regina D’Italia , $60 Million

Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, known as the duo behind Dolce & Gabbana, own a yacht named  Regina D’Italia , which reportedly houses around 12 guests. According to Racked , the boat boasts lavish details throughout the interior, including gold-veined marble floors, gold bathroom taps studded with sapphires and rubies and leopard-skin throws. But perhaps the coolest feature? A giant, custom-built, inflatable slide.

Giorgio Armani — Main , $60 Million

Giorgio Armani shelled out more than $60 million to build his 213-foot yacht, Main . It reportedly took 30 months to build the vessel at Italy’s Codecasa Shipyards.

“The costs [of upkeep] are extraordinary,” the designer told Harper’s Bazaar in 2010. “When you decide to have a boat like this, a thousand euros is nothing. It’s a drop in the bucket.”

Johnny Depp — Vajoliroja / Amphitrite , $30 Million

The Vajoliroja once belonged to Johnny Depp. The yacht got its unique moniker by blending his name with those of his former girlfriend Vanessa Paradis and their two children Lily-Rose and Jack. The 156-foot-long yacht, which has a state of the art communications and entertainment system, was later renamed Amphitrite .

J.K. Rowling — Amphitrite , $30 Million

J.K. Rowling bought the Amphitrite , previously owned by Depp, in 2016. According to The Telegraph , she was entranced by the vessel when she and her family chartered it for a trip. But she apparently had a change of heart shortly after, putting it up for sale less than a year later.

Paul Allen — Octopus , $200 Million

Late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen shelled out about $200 million to build this 414-foot yacht, Octopus . The boat boasts some amazing amenities, including a glass-bottom pool, two helicopters, a movie theater and a basketball court. It also consists of 41 suites that accommodate over two dozen guests.

David Geffen — Rising Sun , $400 Million

Record executive, film producer and DreamWorks co-founder David Geffen owns the impressive superyacht Rising Sun , which is one of the largest in the world. The boat reportedly cost over $200 million to build. It also boasts 82 rooms, including a movie theater and a basketball court.

Shaquille O’Neal — Free Throw , $1.7 Million

This yacht’s name is quite appropriate considering its owner. The name of the yacht came from his son, Shareef, who gave it name so that his father would “never sink it”. A clever jab at how O’Neal would rarely ever sink a basket when making a free throw while in the NBA. Shaq’s a little tight-lipped when it comes to his yacht’s commodities, but it’s certainly a beauty.

Rafael Nadal — Beethoven , $3 Million

Tennis star Rafael Nadal bought the Monte Carlo Yachts model MCY 76, and named it Beethoven , in 2016. Italian design team Nuvolari Lenard designed both the interior and exterior.

“The main saloon is totally open and not like other boats where there is a living area, then a closed galley and a separate helm position,” Nadal told Boat International . “I like the fact that I can sit in the saloon and see out the front; it makes the boat feel bigger.”

Roman Abramovich — Eclipse , $700 Million

The Russian-Israeli businessman and owner of English Premier League’s Chelsea Football Club owns the second-largest private yacht in the world . The 533-foot-long boat, named Eclipse, took five years to design, develop and construct. It boasts two helicopters pads, 24 guest cabins, two swimming pools, multiple hot tubs and a disco hall.

Tiger Woods — Privacy , $20 Million

Tiger Woods owns a $20 million, 155-foot-long luxury liner named Privacy, seen here outside one of his homes. According to Business Insider , the famous golfer bought the yacht in 2004, even spending his wedding night with ex-wife Elin Nordegren on board. The boat is big enough to sleep over a dozen people and reportedly has a theater, a gym and jacuzzi.

Larry Ellison — Musashi , $160 Million

Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison was the previous owner of David Geffen’s Rising Sun . After deciding it was too big, he sold the mammoth yacht to Geffen in 2010. He now owns the smaller, but still luxurious, 288-foot vessel  Musashi .

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum — Smeralda , $75 Million

The crown prince of Dubai, who often catalogs his life of luxury on Instagram , reportedly owns multiple yachts. One of them is Smeralda , which can accommodate over 20 guests and boasts a huge owner’s apartment on the upper deck. It’s also reportedly equipped with a huge interior beach club complete with gym and massage room, a fully customized eight-person spa and sauna and a large multi-function outdoor entertaining area that includes a “winter garden” and a pool.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum — Dubai , $400 Million

Speaking of the royal family of Dubai, Smeralda isn’t the only impressive vessel under its ownership. The Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates owns the third largest boat in the world , the 531-foot, Dubai . As Boat International reports, the yacht houses up to 24 guests and is comprised of a master’s suite, five VIP suites and six guest suites, all with open balconies. Other amenities include a pool, barbecue area, cinema, disco, a landing platform for a Blackhawk helicopter, a gymnasium, a garage for the yacht’s submarine and a myriad of water toys.

Eddie Lampert — Fountainhead , $130 Million

Former Sears CEO Eddie Lampert  owns the 288-foot Fountainhead, the sister ship to Ellison’s Musashi. The yacht can accommodate 14 guests and a crew of 20.

Valentino Garavani — T.M. Blue One , $15 Million

The fashion designer owns the 152-foot vessel  T.M. Blue One . The boat is reportedly named after the designer’s beloved parents, Teresa and Mauro. Contrary to what you’d think, the interior was not designed by Valentino, but by architect Peter Marino.

Sir Philip Green — Lionheart , $150 Million

British businessman Sir Philip Green owns the superyacht Lionheart . The 207-foot boat reportedly cost $37.5 million . It can accommodate 12 guests comfortably and also has enough cabin space for 16 crew members.

Diane Von Furstenberg — Eos , $150 Million

Diane von Furstenberg and husband Barry Diller own the 305-foot superyacht Eos . The boat is one of the largest private sailing yachts in the world and reportedly cost $150 million . The designer and her family are known to spend much of their summers on the vessel, along with their famous friends. Andy Cohen posted a photo of himself with von Furstenberg aboard the boat in 2017.

All aboard S.S. Facebook.

Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly gifted himself a $300 million megayacht, dubbed “Launchpad,” ahead of his 40th birthday.

The staggering 387-foot-long vessel was seen floating at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after arriving at its berth earlier this week, The Sun reported Thursday.

Mark Zuckerberg.

The multi-layered luxury ship’s sleek exterior was designed by Espen Øino International and boasts a steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, according to SuperYacht Times.

Reportedly ranking as the 45th largest yacht in the world, the interiors are just as aesthetically pleasing and reportedly executed by Zuretti Interior Design company, a France-based company specializing in unique and custom yacht design.

The breathtakingly beautiful floater stands out with a navy blue theme matching an American flag perched proudly on its wood-paneled stern.

There are several outdoor areas where the social media maven will be able to relax with his family and the indoor levels feature glass paneling allowing for tons of natural light.

Boatworld insiders have been buzzing with speculation that Zuckerberg is the owner of the newly minted mega-cruise ever since it made its main voyage from the Netherlands last week.

The tech titan was spotted touring the Russian-commissioned megayacht in early March, though the impressive boat didn’t arrive stateside until this week due to sanctions, according to The Sun.

The website reported that Zuckerberg purchased the pricey yacht – along with its own $30 million partner boat — most likely as an early 40th birthday present to himself.

The boat reportedly traveled to Florida after being granted special permission to be imported just weeks ahead of Zuckerberg’s birthday on May 14.

Zuckerberg’s yacht is just 30 feet shorter than the length of fellow billionaire Jeff Bezos’ 417-foot megayacht Koru, which the Amazon boss snagged for a whopping $500 million.

Zuckerberg’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Celebrity Yachts: Here’s What The World’s A-Listers Sail On

Few things can rival the exhilarating feeling of sailing across the waves on a lavish boat, with the wind in your hair. Indeed, luxurious yachts symbolise not just wealth but power too. Since celebrities — be it in entertainment, sports or business — have both, owning a yacht becomes a matter of status among these immensely affluent.

However, while some celebrities have more than one, others have never owned any. Chief among them are Beyoncé, who is known for chartering yachts , and Leonardo DiCaprio, who has previously holidayed on some yachts owned by his celebrity friends.

At the same time, some celebrities have also sold their yachts. These include Va Bene , which   was owned by Eric Clapton, while Seven Seas was sold by Steven Spielberg in 2021.

Floating palaces on the water

Celebrity yachts are similar to those owned by powerful royals or political leaders around the globe. All of them exude luxury through their design and amenities while having some of the best security systems on board.

The breathtaking interiors of a luxury yacht are designed, keeping in mind the refined tastes of the owners. Therefore, the very best furnishings and the finest materials are used in the construction of the vessels.

Everything, from swimming pools to jacuzzi and cinema halls to dance floors, are built across the length and breadth of the yachts. They also come equipped with jet skis and other toys should their guests wish to partake in water sports.

The cabins, or suites, appear like rooms of the best luxury hotels and the décor reflects the highest of artistic tastes. Meant for utmost fun, the yachts give the owner and the guests every opportunity to unwind in peace.

Here are some celebrity-owned yachts you must know about

Giorgio armani — maìn.

Armani Main yacht

The Maìn  was constructed by Codecasa in 2008 and has the rare distinction of being partly designed by its owner. However, this should not be a surprise when the owner is fashion designer Giorgio Armani — one of the greatest icons in the history of fashion.

Design is certainly a high point of the Maìn. One of the most stunning yachts in the world, it is dark green, which helps it camouflage at sea.

Armani carefully worked on the interiors of the 65-metre-long yacht along with designers Studio Dellarole and Ortelli. A minimalist colour scheme coupled with Asian aesthetics, such as Japanese-style low tables, dominates the décor across rooms and the main salon. The blinds, windows and furniture have been created by Armani and his namesake brand.

There are seven suites built to accommodate 12 guests.

Tiger Woods — Privacy

celebrity yachts

Among the most famous luxury yachts owned by celebrities, the Privacy  is known for having the legendary golfer on board on important tours.

Woods, who was in March 2022 inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, stayed on it during the 2019 PGA Championship at Long Island, the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock Hills and the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot.

The Privacy  was purchased by Woods in 2004. At the time, he paid USD 20 million for the 48-meter-long vessel. It has five cabins for 10 guests.

Among its most attractive luxury features is a jacuzzi on the deck where up to eight guests can take a dip at a time. There is a bar and a cinema room for some winding down. A gym in the yacht helps Woods maintain his regular fitness routine when he is on board the Privacy . There is also a decompression chamber for scuba diving, jet skis, ocean kayaks and motorised scooters.

David Geffen — Rising Sun

celebrity yachts

The Rising Sun  measures 138 metres and is one of the most iconic celebrity superyachts. Built in 2004, Geffen bought it six years later from Oracle founder Larry Ellison.

The founder of Geffen Records and co-founder of DreamWorks Pictures, Geffen is a billionaire known for his love of yachts. After buying the Rising Sun , he used it to host his galaxy of friends from Hollywood’s A-list, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Oprah Winfrey, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom and Chris Rock. Even Jeff Bezos, the Amazon founder and one of the world’s richest men, was seen holidaying on it with his girlfriend Lauren Sánchez in 2019.

According to Esquire , Geffen paid USD 590 million for the superyacht. However, Forbes valued it at USD 570 million in 2020.

The Rising Sun was built by German shipbuilder Lürssen and styled by Seccombe Design. Its exterior features some engineering masterpieces and has the signature of Jon Bannenberg of the Bannenberg & Rowell firm.

Of the five decks, the top deck has been designed entirely for owner use. There are luxurious rooms for 18 guests. The guest cabins are crafted to provide direct access to the exterior side decks of the vessel, while the remaining are sheltered from the weather by indents. The vessel houses a spa, a gym, a helipad, a swimming platform and a double-height cinema.

The Rising Sun  can cruise easily at 26 knots and has a top speed of 30 knots.

The Edge — Cyan

In September 2021, U2 ’s lead guitarist The Edge and frontman Bono were seen holidaying on the Cyan in Ibiza.

The Edge, whose actual name is David Howell Evans, bought the superyacht in 2008 for a reported GBP 12 million (between USD 17-20 million at the time). It was refurbished by his wife Morleigh Steinberg the year it was purchased.

One of the most famous celebrity yachts in the world, the Cyan  was originally built in 1997 and is easily identifiable by its dark hull.

The 48.7-metre-long vessel has six luxurious cabins which can house up to 12 people. The master suite is located on the main deck.

There are many avenues for relaxation and entertainment on the yacht. Among them are a three-metre outdoor cinema screen and a movie library with more than 1,500 titles.

There are several toys for those who would like to take part in water sports. These include wakeboards, inflatables and WaveRunners. Some of these were seen when The Edge and Bono were in Ibiza.

David and Victoria Beckham — Seven

celebrity yachts

In April 2022, power couple David and Victoria Beckham were seen spending time with their children, parents and friends on board the Seven  off the coast of Miami, US. The family was vacationing ahead of the marriage of the couple’s eldest son, Brooklyn, to Nicola Peltz.

The Seven , which is named after the English footballer’s jersey number, was built in 2021. The vessel is part of the Riva 90′ Argo family of flybridge yachts.

Ferretti Engineering Department built the 28.5-metre-long vessel, while Mauro Micheli’s Studio Officina Italiana Design worked on both its interior and exterior.

Its sun lounging space is located on the foredeck. The main saloon, dubbed Crystal Palace by its makers, has large glass windows and a dark lacquered ceiling. Its aft deck is almost all glass and therefore, creates an infinity view of the sea.

Rafael Nadal — Great White

Rafael Nadal yacht

The tennis great gifted himself the yacht on his 34th birthday in 2020 and named it the Great White . It reportedly cost him USD 6.2 million.

One of the most famous yachts owned by celebrities, the 23.95-metre-long vessel was built by Sunreef Yachts in Poland and delivered to Nadal’s hometown of Mallorca, Spain. The Great White  is a fully customised Sunreef 80’ Power catamaran, which is basically a two-hull vessel.

Nadal himself worked on the interior design of the yacht. The colours beige, coffee and cream — all of which are the Spaniard’s favourites — dominate the 371.6 square metres of the living space of the yacht.

There is a large main saloon connected to the front terrace. The flybridge on the Great White  offers sun pads for guests and has a fully equipped wet bar and a barbecue. There is also a waterfall-fed spa pool.

The vessel has four guest cabins luxuriously fitted for 10 guests. Nadal’s own suite, which is on the main deck, has a private fold-out balcony and an overhead skylight.

Like other large-sized yachts, the Great White , too, comes with its own set of toys such as jet skis in its personal garage.

Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller — Eos

celebrity yachts with helicopters

Measuring 93 meters, the Eos is one of the world’s largest sailing yachts. Built by Lürssen in 2006, the beautiful vessel is essentially a three-masted schooner powered by a 1,740 kW MTU engine. The yacht can attain a maximum speed of 16 knots.

Diane von Furstenberg, the Belgian fashion designer renowned for her wrap dress, and her husband Barry Diller, an American businessman, bought the Eos in 2009.

While the vessel’s classic exterior was designed by the late Bill Langan, its interiors were done by François Catroux. Although details of the yacht’s interiors are not known, guests such as American television producer Andy Cohen and CNN  anchor Anderson Cooper, along with Diller himself, have shared pictures of the same.

The pictures reveal a mix of white furniture on brown wooden panelling and a wooden staircase leading to an upper deck. In a photograph of von Furstenberg taken by Diller in 2019, the designer can be seen taking a nap on a comfy couch, with throw pillows draped in cream and navy patterned covers.

The spacious Eos can accommodate up to 14 guests in seven cabins. It also reportedly has a world map mural measuring 4.2 metres created by Hand Made Maps Ltd.

Sergey Brin — Dragonfly

The Google co-founder is believed to have bought the yacht in 2009. Named after a project that the tech giant launched to bring a censored search engine to China, the Dragonfly measures 73.3 metres and is one of the most fuel-efficient vessels at sea.

Like any other luxurious celebrity yacht, the Dragonfly  comes with amenities designed for a luxurious stay. However, it is best known, in fact widely respected, for playing a major role in disaster relief missions as part of Brin’s Global Support and Development (GSD) team, which comprises ex-military men.

According to The Daily Beast , the yacht supplied 62 metric tons of freshwater to Vanuatu when the island was hit by Hurricane Pam in 2015. It was also used to treat more than 250 patients and engaged in critical medical evacuation. The Dragonfly ’s crew helped build shelters in the villages of the island. That mission launched GSD.

Ever since, Brin has been reportedly using GSD to run relief missions around the world, including earthquake-hit Ecuador and the hurricane-ravaged Bahamas, from time to time.

As for the yacht, it was valued at USD 80 million in 2020.

Roman Abramovich — Eclipse

celebrity yachts with helicopters

Abramovich, a Russian oligarch and former boss of the English Premier League club Chelsea FC, is perhaps the most famous name among superyacht owners. The Eclipse has been in his possession since he bought it for USD 590 million in 2010. Its current valuation comes to around USD 1.5 billion.

The Eclipse is, therefore, one of the most expensive celebrity yachts. Measuring 162.5 metres, the superyacht is also one of the biggest celebrity yachts.

German shipbuilder Blohm+Voss built the vessel, whose interiors were decked up by the renowned Terry Disdale of UK’s Terence Disdale Design. The beach-house style interiors showcase the finest in Art Deco.

The massive nine-deck vessel is served by around 100 crew members and can house 36 guests in its 18 über-luxurious suites. Each suite features materials such as a limed wedge, black wood with silver rubbed into the open grain, and buffalo hide. Several types of fireproof materials, such as stone, shell and fossilised wood, have also been used.

One of its many highlights is the main deck, which has a 16-metre swimming pool with a blue granite floor. At the push of a button, the pool rises to deck level and turns into a dance floor. The pool is designed in a way that guests can relax comfortably around it in an indoor setting, with glass panels closing off the sides.

Another attractive location is the rear lounge on the lower deck. The cosy setting offers one of the best views of the water while enjoying the luxurious comforts of the vessel.

Among the other amenities are a deck jacuzzi, a beauty salon, a tender garage and an exterior fireplace. The lobbies are decorated with artwork specially commissioned for the Eclipse .

The superyacht can carry three helicopters. It has two helipads — one at the foredeck and another at the sundeck. Below one of the helipads is a hangar for the third.

The Eclipse is also a high-tech yacht known for its missile detection system and bulletproof windows protecting the master suite. A submarine within the vessel is powerful enough to dive to a depth of around 50 metres.

Jeff Bezos — Y721

Multiple media reports in February 2022 indicated that Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos has commissioned one of the world’s largest yachts.

Measuring 127 metres, the huge vessel has been dubbed Y721 and will reportedly cost Bezos around USD 500 million. It is being built by Dutch shipbuilder Oceanco in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The vessel will have three decks and three massive masts, which makes it similar to the sailing yacht Eos  owned by Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller. Once ready, the Y721 will host 18 guests besides crew members. It can also accommodate jet skis and other smaller boats along with a helicopter.

Celebrity yacht trivia

Among all the celebrities in the world, the most expensive and biggest yacht belongs to Roman Abramovich. That superyacht is named Eclipse .

Besides the Eclipse, Abramovich is also the owner of the Solaris and the Sussurro , both of which are superyachts. The Russian billionaire has previously owned a number of yachts, making him perhaps the owner of the highest numbers of mega yachts in a lifetime.

Currently, Bezos doesn’t own any yacht, but he will once the Y721 is ready for sailing.

Tiger Woods appears to be one of those who loves yachts more than land. He is known to have used his vessel, Privacy , as his stay at many major tournaments near the coast.

Jeff Bezos to David Beckham: 10 celebrity yachts that put palaces to shame

Luxurious yachts symbolise not just wealth but power too. Since celebrities — be it in entertainment, sports or business — have both, owning a yacht becomes a matter of status among these immensely affluent.

However, while some celebrities have more than one, others have never owned any. Chief among them are Beyoncé, who is known for chartering yachts, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who has previously holidayed on some yachts owned by his celebrity friends.

In September 2021, U2’s lead guitarist The Edge and frontman Bono were seen holidaying on the Cyan in Ibiza.

Kate Middleton, Prince William head to Sandringham with their kids for Easter amid cancer diagnosis

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Kate Middleton and Prince William will be spending some much-needed quality time at Sandringham this Easter.

The Prince and Princess of Wales left Adelaide Cottage in Windsor via helicopter on Saturday with their children — Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 — to head towards Anmer Hall , located on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, “ Entertainment Tonight” reports .

Middleton, 42, revealed on Friday that she has  been undergoing chemotherapy treatment  after doctors discovered cancer during her planned abdominal surgery.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, along with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and Catharine, attending Easter Mattins Service at Windsor Castle

The family will spend Easter break at the estate, where they’re expected to see King Charles III, 75, who is also battling cancer .

Understandably, the Waleses will stray from tradition this year by not joining the rest of the royal family for Easter services.

Instead, they will spend the long Easter weekend together behind closed doors.

Charles, for his part, is set to attend a small Easter service with family that’s set to be of much smaller scale than in previous years.

It’s unclear if the entire family will unite for a publicized church service this year.

Kensington Palace declined to comment.

While initial palace guidance said that the princess won’t return to royal duties until after Easter, it’s now been said that she won’t return to the royal fold until after she’s given the all clear by her doctors .

“The princess will return to official duties when she is cleared to do so by her medical team,” a palace spokesperson said following Middleton’s cancer announcement.

“She is in good spirits and is focused on making a full recovery.”

Prince William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, holding hands with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as they arrive at Lambrook School, Bracknell, England.

The mother of three had already stepped back from her duties after having the abdominal surgery in January for what she thought, at the time, was a noncancerous condition.

She then started chemo in late February after post-operative tests and results uncovered the disease.

Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis: Everything we know so far

Kate Middleton

  • Kate Middleton revealed she’s been diagnosed with cancer in a bombshell announcement Friday.
  • The royal is undergoing chemotherapy, and will not return to official palace duties until she is cleared by her doctor.
  • Middleton had waited to reveal the news of her cancer until her children were off from school for Easter break.
  • The announcement comes after weeks of speculation and baseless conspiracy theories surrounding the royal.
  • The princess has been facing controversy regarding a scandal involving “digitally altered ” photos of her family.
  • Middleton recently underwent abdominal surgery.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful,” Middleton said in her announcement.

“William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment,” she continued, noting that the news came as a “huge shock.”

“But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

While Middleton continues her treatment, the palace said Prince William will carry on with his official royal appearances.

“The prince will continue to balance supporting his wife and family and maintaining his official duties as he has done since the start of the year,” a palace spokesperson said.
