Founded in 1964 by avid sailor Michel Dufour a naval architect and engineer who became interested in the polyester and glass fiber material as early as 1957. He designed and built a transportable yacht, “Sylphe” in 1964 which led to 20 orders the following year and eventually increased to industrial scale manufacturing of over 300 boats in 1971. New models were introduced as Dufour focused on performance and expanding his sales network to new markets throughout Europe and to the US. The company’s success was recognized with the Export Prize in 1973. The Dufour factory, located on the Atlantic coast of France in La Rochelle, implemented a co-branding strategy in the 1980s with the famous French tennis star René Lacoste’s brand to produce the luxury Dufour Lacoste 42 that is still recognized today for its timeless elegance. In 1988, sail height was raised, challenging the global sailing industry with the luxurious and contemporary Prestige models.

The “Ready-to-Sail” concept was introduced in the 1990s with the Dufour Classic range offering fully equipped, provision and go yachts to make cruising easy and fun. The new millennium began with Dufour Yachts’ collaboration with the famous Italian naval architect, Umberto Felci and a focus on a performance range (2002) and the Grand Large cruising models (2003) that have been continually refined over the years. Another major event occurred in 2020 with the purchase of Dufour Yachts by Fountaine Pajot, the French catamaran giant. Dufour has been kept a separate and distinct brand with 3 new Felci Yacht Designs launched, including the new flagship, Dufour 61. Also new for Dufour is the introduction of a sailing catamaran, the Dufour Sailing Catamarans 48, ideal for exploring in the shallow waters around islands without compromise of the Dufour sailing experience.

They are cruising race yachts 10.6-13.76 meters long and cruising sail yachts in 9.8-15.31 meters long class. Dufour yachts were repeatedly given ‘yacht of the year’ award. Four mates buy crayfish boat on night out and sail it from Dunedin to Whanganui

A night at a Whanganui pub ended in four mates splitting the purchase of a 39ft crayfish boat together.

The only problem was that the boat was a 55-hour voyage away in Dunedin.

Brian “Smitty” Smith pitched the idea to his friends at the Commercial Hotel after spotting the vessel listed online for a low price.

“I saw the boat on Trade Me so we go into the pub and everyone thought: ‘oh s*** that’s a good idea’,” he said.

Aaron Littlefair hadn’t seen the boat before he decided to go in on it, but came around to the decision pretty easily: “After five or six jugs it changed.”

The group travelled to Dunedin by car to test out the boat and decided its CAT V-8 engine and hull were in good, seaworthy condition.

Smith and Jim Rison have boat-building experience so touching up the ex-crayfishing boat would not be an issue.

Cruising into clear, crisp skies in the Whanganui port upon their arrival, the four men were “pretty chuffed” with the purchase from their night out.

“It’s all good - I just haven’t told my wife yet,” Rison said.

But the 55-hour voyage back from Dunedin’s Port Chalmers took a fair amount of grit.

There were bad northerlies on Sunday afternoon and “sharp, lumpy” conditions all the way through Cook Strait, Smith said.

“It was sloppy. [The waves] were stacking them over the top of the wheelhouse, no trouble.”

There was water in the berth, all the mattresses got soaked and they had to deal with a blocked toilet.

“On a trip like that, you can’t just stop.”

Littlefair said the voyage was “a marathon.

“I’d never done anything like that before.”

Smith said the crew didn’t lack experience.

“I’ve taken boats over to Samoa and that, and I’ve commercial fished for 45 years so it’s just a bit of fun.”

The cheap price of the boat was what drew Smith to it.

“The guys in Dunedin said if they knew they could have got it for that price, we wouldn’t have been getting it.”

The Trade Me steal is now docked in the harbour awaiting its first fishing outing with the group.

Littlefair said they were knackered after the voyage and ready for some beers.

Viking Yachts was founded by brothers Bob and Bill Healey in 1964 when they bought Peterson-Viking Builders, a small, struggling New Jersey builder of 37-foot wooden sportfishing boats. Those humble beginnings, of course, led to Viking Yachts, now a world leader in semi-custom fiberglass yacht production, with over 4,000 Viking sportfish and motor yachts delivered.

With Bob Healey still at the company helm as Chief Executive Officer and deal maker and Bill as company President, chief boatbuilder, and head of Viking Yacht's in-house design and engineering teams, this family-owned and managed business is thriving. Viking Yacht Company builds over 100 high-end sportfishing yachts from 45' to 82' each year. Viking Yachts' order sheet is full for the next 12 months, depending on the model, with sales limited only by production capacity.

Viking 37 Billfish

The Viking 37 Billfish exceeds the limit on the bar of the memory of classic vessels with such contemporary styling. The 37 Billfish is also designed with sleek and modern durable materials for the best performance. The 37B has been designed to mimic the historic Merritt and Rybovich day era. This particular yacht was built to be tournament ready no matter where the fishing may lead. Viking 48 Convertible

Viking was started by brothers Bob and Bill Healey in 1964 when they bought Peterson-Viking Builders, a small New Jersey builder of 37-foot, wooden sportfishing boats. In 1971 the company built its first all-fiberglass model, the Viking 33 Convertible, and thefollowing fall the Viking 40 made its debut—a huge marketing success (over 400 were sold in the next 10 years) that established Viking as a leader in the pleasureboat industry. In 1987 the company moved into the large motor yacht market with the purchase of Gulfstar Yachts, a West Florida builder whose yachts were then considered among the most innovative in the industry. By 1990 Viking was offering a full line of high-end convertibles and mo tor yachts. The 1991-era recession, together with the ill-timed 10 percent luxury tax—whose repeal owed much to the efforts of Bob Healey—crippled Vikings production for a time. By 2003, Viking was back, building over 100 sportfishing yachts, 45' to 82', each year. Still family owned and operated, Viking has built over 4,000 yachts in the last 40 years.

In 1992, his family moved to the United States. In 2007, after completing a full course of spiritual and academic preparation, Joseph moved to Dallas, Texas, to engage in church ministry. In 2008, he founded the Russian Bible Church to preach to the Russian-speaking population living in Dallas, Texas.

In the Moscow region there is a small cozy town Elektrostal. Its sights for the most part have no historical value due to the fact that the city has a relatively small history. But for a visiting tourist or city dweller, they will be of interest. There is something to see, where to go to have an exciting leisure time.

Today the population of the city is 158 thousand people. Until the beginning of the 20th century there were several small workers' settlements here. After the opening of the electrometallurgical and equipment factories, the place began to be called the natural boundary of Calm. The construction of the railway made this settlement accessible, and workers and families flocked here to earn money. In 1925, the station was named Elektrostal, and the rapid increase in population allowed the village to receive the status of a city.

The founder of the city is a prominent Russian industrialist Nikolai Vtorov. It was he who opened the plant here, creating, in fact, a city-forming enterprise that is still operating. In Soviet times, it was a closed facility, and it was not easy to get to work here.

Today Elektrostal is a promising industrial city with a great future and a heroic past. It bears the proud name "City of Military and Labor Glory".

Those who come to the city by train are met by a monument to the metallurgist. It was installed in November 2017 for the 100th anniversary of the Elektrostal plant. The attraction is made in the style of constructivism. The monument quickly won the love of the townspeople, because this city is supported by ordinary workers.

Elektrost altsy and the founding father of the plant, Nikolai Vtorov, are honored. In 2002, a monument was opened in honor of him, which became a landmark of the city of Elektrostal. The bronze sculpture is installed on the site where once stood a monument to the leader of the world proletariat, V. I. Lenin. Times change, characters change. Today, the plant, founded a century ago, is the largest in Russia. Vtorov himself, whose fortune was estimated at 60 million rubles in gold, according to Forbes magazine, was the owner of the largest capital at the beginning of the century. He was a banker, an industrialist, an entrepreneur, a man of action.

The monument was erected byinitiative of the townspeople who wished to perpetuate the monument to the great man.

One of the popular places for spending weekends and evenings among citizens and guests of the city is the Park of Culture and Leisure. Here you can ride attractions for children and adults, play slot machines, rollerblade or bike. The park is divided into two zones. Fans of unhurried walks in the fresh air make a promenade on the Quiet Alley, and those who prefer outdoor activities flock to the Entertainment Alley. The park has a summer stage, where concerts and cafes are regularly held.

Until 1999, there was no central museum among the attractions of Elektrostal in the Moscow Region. The expositions were exhibited in schools, the house of culture, in factory museums. The city was closed, so there was no large influx of tourists and visitors. The appearance of the historical and art museum made it possible for residents and guests of the city to learn a lot of useful information about their native land, the formation of the production process, and the difficult years of the war. The exposition consists of paintings by local artists, historical artifacts, household items, documents, books and much more. The collection is updated regularly. It also hosts outdoor exhibitions, which are always popular with the townspeople.

One of the main attractions of Elektrostal, the photo of which is available to almost every resident or visitor, is the Main Alley. On herpassers-by like to stroll along shady paths, townspeople rest by the fountain after a hard shift at the plant. Flower beds are the decoration of the alley. In 2006, a flower festival was held here for the first time, which has become traditional. Each enterprise of the city and private individuals give residents a real composition of fresh flowers, which pleases with bright colors all summer long. A riot of colors, aromas and a flight of fantasy reigns here. Walking through the park, you can see Snow White with a basket, a bright well, a multi-tiered cake made from fresh flowers, hearts of lovers or a fabulous house. It is almost impossible not to take a photo against the background of these compositions.

There is a cultural center in the city. It hosts performances by local creative teams and visiting stars, performances and circus performances.

In 1971, the ice palace "Crystal" was opened in the city. Almost immediately, a children's and youth hockey team was organized, which gained sports fame. This is the home sports arena for the Elektrostal hockey team. Matches of different levels are held on the ice.

In 1999, a museum and exhibition complex was opened in the city, where, in addition to the exhibition hall, there are numerous circles for children, classes for young people, and a creative workshop. Various festivals, exhibitions, city holidays and other events are held within the walls and on the territory of the complex, which attract many spectators.

Listing the sights of Elektrostal, it is impossible not to mention the temples. There are several of them in the city: the church of St. John of Kronstadt, St. Andrew's Church, the hospital church of St. Panteleimon. Another new church is being built. In appearance, the temples look ancient, monumental, in the Novgorod style. But they were all built at the end of the 20th century.

Let there be no ancient artifacts among the sights of Elektrostal. But on the other hand, all of them are connected with the history of the city, with everyday work and military exploits of ordinary residents.

Ring command bezel, a synchronized countdown.

Rolex achieved perfection when it turned its attention to redefining the purpose and functionality of the bezel. Typically, a bezel operates independently from the internal mechanism; however, the Ring Command bezel in the Yacht-Master II regatta chronograph operates in conjunction with it.

As a mechanical component linked to the movement, the bezel literally acts as the key to the programmable countdown, allowing it to be set and synchronised to the sequence of race start times. Complex in design, but simple in use, it is functionally beautiful.

A characteristic aesthetic

The Yacht-Master II is equipped with a new dial, and new hands that are characteristic of Rolex Professional models, enhancing legibility and sharpening its aesthetic appeal. The dial now features a triangular hour marker at 12 o’clock and a rectangular hour marker at 6 o’clock for more intuitive reading of the watch.

A luminescent disc on the hour hand clearly distinguishes it from the minute hand. The Yacht-Master II’s countdown can be programmed for a duration of between 1 and 10 minutes. The programming is memorized by the mechanism so that at a reset it returns to the previous setting. Once launched, the countdown can be synchronized on the fly to match the official race countdown.
